Review summary

I was really pleased with the total experience! I would not want to go to Santa Marta again and really would prefer not to have 4 days at sea again (gets really boring) but otherwise this was a great cruise!

There was too much smoking going on in this casino for me to stay in there! Plus the smoke smell was wafting up into the 6th floor and other open areas!

Ship tip

Book excursions with cruise line so you don't get left at a port! Many of them got back late!

Ports of call

HAVANA, CUBA

Great opportunity to visit this formerly "forbidden" country. Was amazed and saddened to see living conditions of the people and the crumbling condition of many old, but beautiful buildings!

Harvest Caye, Belize

Reminded me of Castaway Caye, the Disney private island!

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

Loved how the locals made us feel very welcome!

Puerto Limon, Costa Rica

Was a very, very long bus ride to get to our excursion but the guide was great!

Colon, Panama

Completely amazed at how clean and nice everything was in this country!

Cartagena, Colombia

Beggars and street vendors were a bit too aggressive for my comfort but overall it was a good port to visit.

Santa Marta, Colombia

Didn't care for this stop at all! The port is a shipping yard for their coal mining operation and from our balcony we had a "lovely" view of a huge pile of coal! We weren't allowed to walk on the pier at all due to all the industrial operations going on. There were very few excursions offered... luckily we were the only ship in port that day but they made no effort to stagger the buses and everyone was crowded into the museums, shows, etc. at the same time. Would not want to go here again!

Oranjestad, Aruba

Had a blast here! Port has LOTS of shopping and many, many excursions to offer. We did the off-roading experience and it was fabulous!

Really appreciated being allowed to stay in our stateroom until time to disembark instead of being required to wait on pool deck or some other common area as other cruise ships have made us do. This, alone, will earn my repeat business from Norwegian!
