The land and sea cruise covered a lot from my bucket list. We enjoyed seeing Alaska interior for the first time. The cruise was also fun. We were two couples enjoying the time together. Long bus trips were include with the land portion. I could have skipped some of them: 56 miles into Denali with a result of not being able to see the mountain anyway.
Would I do it again? Maybe in 10 years.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Whole bus of people loaded on Cruise with no delays. Tour director in Fairbanks was also excellent. Told us what we were doing and when at least a day before starting.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Food was good, but nothing to boast about. Never used a specialty dining experience, I didn't see the need.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Hardly any were attended. When we went we were one of 30 people there. No passenger support--low entertainment. Beinging a small ship, options were limited.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Small ship, 80% full, meant that activities were limited. I liked the evening shows, in the Stardust. The acoustics in the small bar "Blazes" i think was the name, were so bad that I stayed for only 2 shows. When the Ship performers sang they sounded like they were played through a cell phone speaker. And the comin was funny, but we had to have someone repeat many of his statements, because it was tin-ney
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Didn't meet the room steward until the last day. He did a great job keeping ahead of us in the room. Bar staff were mostly somber. Most waiters and waitresses were pleasant, but the kitchen delays caused them frustrations. We couldn't go to any of the main dining rooms and eat in less than 1:45. Two servers in the Seven Seas were excellent. They treated us "old school" making the meal wonderful as it was before Free Style cruising.
Ship Quality

Older ship. Everything seemed to work.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
It was a handicap accessible room, Much more room than most cabins. When my gout kicked in , I really appreciated the extra room, and the room to get help from my spouse. There were broken drawers, hangers that were clearly pulled and stretched out of shape by prior users. But as for comfort we were happy.
I was very unimpressed by the Tram forest tour. The narrator had little to say. The tribal dance was interesting, performed by local high school kids to give an idea of their customs. I wouldn't do either again. They need to refine what they are to say and make it more entertaining.
Did the ghost and good time girls tour. BEST of our trip... "Socha Tease" was a delight, giving us lots of info, making it a bit bawdy, and exceeding our expectations. After the tour we walked all the streets, and resay what we were told about. Good visit.
Did the All you can eat Crab feast. We thought it was expensive until we went. Price of crab at all ports was expensive +$40 per pound. This feast was a feast. The boat tour of where they set traps and the narrative during that tour were good. But the crabs were excellent. When you wanted more they piled it on.
We spend 4 days in Vancouver. Probably would have been better if only three.. We were tired. Used Both hop-on Hop off bus and trolley. The trolley was better. Really liked the free shuttle to Capilan Suspension bridge, walking around the bridge, treetops and the cliff. Must do in Vancouver.
Had priority walk off--at 8 !0 when we finished breakfast, we grabbed our luggage in the room, and walked off without a delay. got a taxi to our hotel immediately and were gone.
