We loved visiting the ports - Juneau, Ketchikan and Skagway. Fantastic 360 views of Glacier Bay, and we saw Orca whales jumping out of the water and many other animals from the boat (sea lions, seals, bears, mountain goats) - definitely find a trip that includes Glacier Bay! It was really cool having the NPS rangers on board and the narration of what we were seeing. We had an interior room and found it to be quite spacious, especially compared to interior rooms on other cruise lines. The staff was helpful and the ship was clean and seemed to be in fine condition.

Food and Dining

We made 0 reservations and had no problem getting a table for any meals. We were almost always seated with a lovely window view!

Entertainment

The shows were surprisingly good! There were cabaret type song/dance shows, a humorous ventriloquist, a comedian and a humorous magician. The game shows were hit or miss. Some were very funny (the Newlyweds show and the "perfect couple" show) and some were boring (minute to win it).

Way bigger than we expected! 8th floor was perfect - we were halfway in between all the activities and dining, which were on 5/6/7 or on 11/12. We were close to the stairs/elevators and had 0 problems with noise. It was very convenient and our room was spacious and enjoyable. Great water pressure in the shower.
Ship tip
When sailing past particularly scenic spots (Glacier Bay, Hubbard Glacier), take photos and observe from Deck 6 instead of Deck 11/12 - it was wayyy less crowded, and you get the same great photos.
We booked a whale watching trip with Harv and Marv's - we were on a smaller 12-person boat and saw tons of sea life - many humpback whales, Dall's porpoises, sea lions. Our tour guides were friendly and knowledgeable. Cheaper than booking through the cruise ship, and we were on a much smaller tour than the ones from the ship (we saw boats out on the water with at least 50 people on there).
After, we took the tram up Mt Roberts - it was cool but pretty pricey for what it is ($33 per person!!).
Be sure to check out the views and take photos from outdoor Deck 6 as well as up on 11/12. The higher decks were very crowded, but no crowding on deck 6!!
You can take a $10 round trip shuttle to Exit Glacier - cheaper than any of the offered excursions!! If you're planning to take the train up to Anchorage, it is scenic but slow moving. It takes about 4.5 hours and it's about 2-2.5 hours to drive the distance. If we had to do it again, we'd take the bus.
