Great cruise for the pananama Canal. Wouldn't take the Norwegian Star again, and am hesitant to sail Norwegian again.

The main dining room was a joke with super slow service and long lines waiting to eat. Appetizers took 30-40 minutes and twice we had to get the Maitre D involved in the lack of service. Specialty restaurants the service was good to great depending on the restaurant. Which just makes me sad seeing how they want you to pay extra for each meal to recieve decent service.
Onboard Activities

There were only 4-5 onboard activies everyday that we free of charge. We had several hours each day where we were wondering around the ship looking for something to do to entertain ourselves. If you wanted to pay for actvities like Bingo or sit through a knee pain seminar and get a sales pitch then you could have filled your day.

Production shows were pretty good some better then others. The lack of a piano bar where you could put in requests that was open late night was a huge dissapointment. The lack of a variety of live music through out the day was a huge let down.

The ship layout was really good and felt easy to move around the ship and not get lost. I didn't see any major cleanliness issues. The only thing was some of the bathrooms 1 or 2 stalls would be out of order.
Cabin / Stateroom

Our room was great, fantastic, amazing. The layout and ease of being able to move around the room was perfect. Comfortable to sleep in or even just hang out in the room all day would have been an okay thing to do.
This was the highlight of the trip for me. I spent 8 hours at least outside on the decks during this process. Just being able to witness the locks and traveling through the canal was a once in a lifetime for me.
Almost every ship excursion takes you to the city of Colonial Leon. We came during their holiday of the mother mary. So to be able to witness this festival was amazing.
Similar to Nicaragua here almost all the ship excursions went to Antigua and the Jade Museum. Which was fun and interesting, but we were bombarded with street vendors from the moment you got off the tour bus till you got back on at each stop. There was a great shopping right at the pier for all your souvenier needs.
We went to the cliff divers just like half the people on the ship. There was very little shopping near the pier , but you could walk 10 minutes down the road to some shopping and a beach.
We had priority so we were able to get off the boat early and the line for Customs wasnt too bad. Took about 25 minutes from the time we left the boat till we had our luggage waiting for a taxi.
More than one person has said the food was Mediocre. I refer to NCL as the Golden Arches of the Sea. I don't mind as I'm only there to rest, read and snack. Don't care for big meals.
