Plan excursions carefully, shop around and get recommendations. This cruise all about the port sightseeing, with the ship as a great home base. Pre-book all tickets (Vatican, Coliseum) in Rome as lines are long and you will not have time to see the sights.

All disembarkations were on the 4th floor. We stayed on the fifth floor mid-ship. It was an easy on and easy off. To us getting drink package not work it. There is fresh water, lemonaide, ice tea to drink with meals. WHen going to places that have churches, wear proper clothing to cover up.

Find a different cruise that arrives into Venice in the afternoon ....the experience is unforgettable !!!

When getting off the ship daily no need for a balcony. THe rooms on the sunny side would have been too hot to sit outside when in port.

i prefer to do my own laundry and wished that a laundry room was available, especially with the days at sea. i had a lot of time on my hand which is rare in my normal scope of things.

Our cabin was located on deck 11, mid ship (closer to the back). This was so convenient because the buffet was just one floor up! =) We were also on the Port side of the ship so we were able to see the port when we docked. Not sure if that's why it's called the port side, but it worked! Loved i

Use the stairs--the elevator is very, very, very slow. Not much of a gift shop onboard--and couldn't find anywhere other than a vending machine in the gym to buy bottled water.

8028 was handy for walks to rear and quick 1 floor drop to lobby or use of quieter forward elevators to 12th floor with pool, library & front bar (good for morning entrance to port) and rear Raffles buffet.

Our cabin location aboard the Spirit was fortunate. The aft location was near both the main Dining Room and the ship's theatre that provided nightly entertainment that was very good.

The cabin was nice. good size. the shawer large enough for us. We took a mid ship so we dis not feel the ships moovement.

We had an aft balcony room on deck 9 which was fairly convenient to ships amenities. Smooth and quiet ride. Comfortable atmosphere with casual attire. Could have brought fewer clothing items. This trip will give you a decent taste of the old world but you will need additional time on a return.

Great itineraries, great ship, good food. Just make sure your complaint is acknowledged when you hear a lot of swearing crew members. Hopefully management will control this.
