Pay a bit more and cruise with any other line. Besides Carnival (which I would rank this right below), the other lines a far better and not much more! This is my LAST NCL CRUISE!

If you are only a couple, it's easy to get room in any restaurant even without reservations. Go into the theater from the level 8 entry, the seats there are better but fill up quickly.

Most NCL Spirit itinerary is port intensive. Although many passengers are off the ship on port days, they still made restaurant (including specialty) reservations that they cannot keep. So just walk up and, most of the time, you will be serve.

For example: Hit the Windows restaurant right when they open at 5:30pm and you can get a seat right by the windows.

Don't by-pass the port of Gibraltar. We sailed by at 01:00 and there was a tour if you went through Spanish territory. Last time we visited "The Rock", Spain was being difficult with those who crossed their borders into Gibraltar and traffic delays were measured in hours. We did not want to risk it

Reservations are not really needed for Windows or the Garden restaurants. If you are really in the mood for burger and fries, try the Blue Lagoon on Deck 7.

Consider trying all dining options, sitting in a restaurant ordering instead of buffet dining offers a relaxing option.

When booking Specialty Dining, book as soon as you can after boarding. The restaurants are small and fill up fast.

Book reservations for premium dining at Cagneys and Le Bistro early as they are quite popular If you can afford a small premium book private tours in lieu of on board excursions. We used 'Tours by Locals.com' and while definitely pricier for 2 the cost for 4 is not much more.

Pay upfront for the beverage package if there is a deal when booking. If you try to add it later, it's $80/day which is outrageous - there's no way we would have ever drank enough to justify it. Go to the shows at the Stardust - they were really good!
