cruise was enjoyable, by WayneM2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Spirit / Destination: Bermuda

Cruise to Bermuda was very enjoyable. On several occasions we had to make way for the adolescent teens running rampant through the corridors and passageways to the guest rooms. Good luck if you were exiting your room, and they were running past your door. Where were the parents? My last cruise from Boston.

Memorable Time by TerriB5

What a wonderful time my daughter and I had cruising on the Spirit to Bermuda. The whole staff was great, the entertainment exciting, and of course, Bermuda was beautiful. The Dockyard was a perfect place to dock. Had the most memorable vacation aboard the Spirit, and will be looking forward to next year's!!

A Great Time by JeanK1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Spirit / Destination: Bermuda

Took the Spirit out of Boston August 27th and had a very nice experience. It was my 32nd cruise and 3rd time on the Spirit. The crew is great. The food was very nice in the dining room where we ate almost every meal. The dress is now casual which really makes it inviting for my family. The breakfast buffet looked good, as did the lunch. A ton of fresh fruit being cut up every minute was offered almost always. Sweets were also everywhere. The entertainment was okay. The noise level of a lot of the children was a bit much. I am the mother of two boys myself, who also came on the trip. But my children stay close with me and behave as they should on vacation, relaxed but free spirited, while not disturbing others. All in all, it was a great time and I would highly recommend it to others!

Outstanding Service on Norwegian Spirit by GloriaB35355945

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Spirit / Destination: Bermuda

Overall, it was a good cruise with ample food and outstanding entertainment. The children dominate the pool, hottubs, and even the clubs and the dance floor. Many of them are running around unsupervised, dripping pool water in the elevator, etc. I wouldn't go on a cruise during the summer or school vacation week for that reason. There is a lot of drinking going on and I don't think that children need to be exposed to that, especially at night when they should be sleeping.

Not so thrilled by KrisS5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Spirit / Destination: Bermuda

The crew works very hard to keep the ship clean and the passengers happy. However, too many children were way too loud, the seating poolside was too few and difficult to get and there was too, too much solicitation to spend more money on specialty restaurants, etc.

Amazing vacation. by TravelerA1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Norwegian Spirit / Destination: Bermuda

The ship is set up very nicely. We traveled with 2 small kids and they LOVED the Kids Crew ( as we did too). The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The ship was very clean and inviting from the second you board to the second you leave. Staying in Bermuda for 3 days was great and coming and going was very smooth. The weather was great for the entire week that we were on board and only encounted "rough seas" one day where they actually had to close the pool but it was late in the day, so it was "ok" for us. There was TONS of food... and it was just "okay". I definatley wouldn't rave about the quality but certainly wouldn't complain about it either. The only "negative" thing I could say is that they had to close the kids pool twice due to "accidents" by children. They literally drain, scrub, and refill the pools so it took about 4 hours each time. (the kids or parents did not like that much) But, It just shows how concerned with the overall health of the guests.

very pleasant cruise experience by CathyL8

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Spirit / Destination: Bermuda

This was a fine cruise. Friendly staff, great shows and awesome food. The cruise director was excellent The only complaints I have were the fact that under age childrend were allowed into the bar area. At one show several teenagers were saving seats for their friends. The shows are very full and "saving Seats" should not be allowed and that rule should be made known. I might add that the friends never showed up and the seats remained vacant for the performance.

Refreshing experience by NoreenR1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Norwegian Spirit / Destination: Bermuda

The ship was clean, service was outstanding, the food was plentiful with a nice variety, lots of activities, the best entertainment I have seen in awhile, and Bermuda was beautiful. Only downside was the depth of the pool. My 11 and 13 year old did not want to go in the kiddy pool and the adult pool started at 5 feet 5 inches to almost 8 feet. I thought this was too deep for the kids to play in. Even the adults had to tred water or hang on the side. The buffet and outside bbq grill were so convenient and had such good food. We liked the variety each night of food in the dining rooms. The towel animals always seemed to find their way in our rooms at night which was a nice surprise. THE BEST part was Horsehoe Bay in Bermuda for swimming. The awesome beach and water was enjoyed by all. I only wish we spent 2 days there instead of sightseeing. The kids enjoyed the swimming and snorkeling the most (we brought our own snorkel stuff). The shows on the ship were so well done you forget where you are. The cruise staff are all very friendly with great customer service (I don't know how they keep smiling faces sometimes). We will definitely do this cruise again. The freestyle is so convenient too. Only downside is you don't really get to meet many other cruisers because you end up staying with your own group and you are not forced to make conversations with strangers at dinner.

Boston to Bermuda on 8/13/10 by Edd1

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Spirit / Destination: Bermuda

We enjoyed our cruise, but were disappointed with the overall service as compared to cruise lines we have used in the past. We did not enjoy the free style dining experience as much as we thought we would and wished for a little bit more formality in the attire worn to the dining room in the evening.

Again, pool much too small and not enough chaise lounges to accomodate all guests. Loved the staff. Very friendly, helpful and efficient.

Bos-Bermuda August 6, 2010 by AshmiY

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Spirit / Destination: Bermuda

It's a small, but comfortably sized ship. This is my fourth cruise that I've been on, and probably the oldest ship. However, I think that the larger ships can sometimes be too large and passengers can be treated like cargo. Yet, one should not mistaken a small ship like the Spirit with a Celebrity-type liner in terms of service and food quality. Overall, the ship is basic, the food a bit better than average, and the port of Bermuda terrific! Btw, the other posts about sea sickness are full of crap. We purchased several over-the-counter sea sickness drugs and did not feel a thing -despite Tropical Storm Colin right near us! The ship goes about 16mph and is really large. So, in our experience, one could easily forget they were at sea in terms of movement. Yes, it was that unnoticeable.
