Norwegian Spirit

7 Night Bermuda (Boston Roundtrip)

Sail date: August 20, 2010

Ship: Norwegian Spirit

Cabin type: Inside

Traveled as: Family (older children)

Reviewed: 13 years ago

Review summary

The crew works very hard to keep the ship clean and the passengers happy. However, too many children were way too loud, the seating poolside was too few and difficult to get and there was too, too much solicitation to spend more money on specialty restaurants, etc.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The buffet was large but the crowd to get to the food was tough to tolerate. There were more cover charge restaurants than all inclusive restaurants.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
There were not enough seats at many of the shows so you had to get there over half and hour early! Then, of course, they try to sell you $10 drinks.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
They were always trying to sell you something - whether it was a $40 bottle of wine, or reservations to a cover charge restaurant. I felt like I was on the beaches of Jamaica and was only left alone if it looked like I was sleeping.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was kept very clean and the waitstaff was exceptional

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Again, the staff was great keeping the state room clean. However, our cabin was directly below the "disco" and was very noisy all night long.

Ports of call

King's Wharf, Bermuda

3 out of 5
It is very easy to buy a ferry ticket to Hamilton and to rent mopeds on your own. The bus system was also very easy to figure out. The bars and restaurants at the port are very expensive and want to draw in the tourist so if you want a night out in town, head over to Hamilton.

Pros: the staff

Cons: the crowds

Recommends Norwegian Spirit? No.
