Review summary

I really like Spirit overall. Unfortunately it didn’t return to Alaska for 2024 season. I booked a BTB on Jewel running similar route this year.

Embarkation

Less the perfect. Took a hour and a half waiting for a wheelchair even though it was ordered in advance and on my reservation

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Food was good in MDR, buffet was adequate, the specialties restaurant were excellent

Windows (Main Dining Room)

5 out of 5

Food was good. View was great! We watched humpback and Orca whales jumping as we cruised along and ate dinner in Alaska.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Not much available, but scenery was plenty entertaining

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Was end of season and the major shows were transferred out the week before.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff were great everywhere.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Yeah and ship was remodeled a couple years before. So very nice

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
I had an inside cabin. The one list is not it as I don’t remember number. But it was a great location and deck, even though I just book as a last minute solo cruiser. It was a family cabin at a great price.

Ship tip

Great for couples and seniors, not much for kids to do.

Ports of call

Seward (Anchorage), Alaska

Take major marine boat into Kenai fjords if you arrive early. Transport best option from Anchorage is the train. Great scenery

Check out free in town buses to transportation to see downtown sights like creek St. but best deal is silver line bus out to see Bight Totem Pole Stare Park. Only $2 each way and drops off in front every hour. Will save you $$$ over excursion doing the same thing.

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia

3 out of 5
See Stanley Park and the Aquarium there. Largest and Newest in Canada. Fabulous

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Much better and organized then getting aboard in Seward. See above notes
