Loved doing this as a B2B from Hawaii. The longer I'm on a ship, the happier I am! Crew did a wonderful job.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We did this as a B2B from Hawaii. Boarding there was a breeze since I had checked in online in advance. We were actually the 1st 2 to board the ship. :)
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
We almost always ate in Windows for supper and always requested the same server (Tricia) who was excellent. We ate at Cagneys once and LeBistro once, both excellent. Breakfast and lunch we always ate at the buffet which always had a great selection.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Just a little lacking for this longer cruise. We played a lot of trivia and sometimes the staff was poorly prepared or re-did previous used questions.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Quality of entertainers was pretty good. I especially appreciated the ship's backup musicians as they were very good and professional.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
We were both impressed and would describe this ship as having a "happy crew", leading me to believe that management was doing a good job. Almost daily I encountered senior staff, walking throughout the ship - a good sign.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Excellent and particularly appreciated the (mostly)quiet reading room on 13 forward.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Deck 10, inside. Our steward (Wren) was fabulous at noticing when we were gone and getting the cabin squared away asap and always a fine job. He also assured our laundry was returned asap.
Ship tip
I always cruise with a grateful heart. In my book, every day on a ship is a great day. Just chill and appreciate it all.
Ship somewhat celebrated a "Shellback" initiation although it was pretty wimpy compared to US Navy initiations. For anyone that wanted to, they had us put on bedsheet togas and we paraded onto the pooldeck. One by one we were seated and received a ladle of ice water on the back of the head.
Fantastic! This was our first time to do self-walk off since we were taking a taxi/Uber to a friend's home. We were off the ship and through customs by 0715!
