The cruise was overall a good cruise. I don't have anything really bad to say about it. Any negatives on the cruise were expected, like overcrowded buffet and food not being piping hot on the buffet. (it's a buffet, if you want piping hot got to the main dining room and order from menu)
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Line was long but moved quite quickly. The staff were nice.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The food in the specialty restaurants were great. My only complaint was at Cagneys Steakhouse there was a $25 upcharge for the surf and turf. The lobster they served was insanely small. maybe 2oz. Not worth the $25 upcharge in my opinion. The buffet area was crowded on the inside but never had an issue finding seating outside.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
The activities were a little sparse on the Spirit. I did like the fact that they had a solo travelers group. (This is not a match making or dating group) I meet some people there that were fun and we did some excursions together. They also had group dinners for us if we so chose to attend.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
I didn't go to many shows in the theatre. But the band Upgrade was amazing. They played in the observation lounge and played everything from the 70's up to the 2010's. Great group of guys. Would love to have these guys on my next cruise.
Children's Programs
1 out of 5
I have no kids with on this cruise and thank god. There is nothing for kids on this ship. No kids club or aqua park. Don't bring kids on this ship as they will be bored out of their minds.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
The service in so the main dining room were hit or miss. The specialty restaurants though were great. Our room steward was great.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Ship was kept clean and tidy. The layout was a little weird but each ship is different and takes getting use to.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The cabin was well appointed. Balcony was nice. I didn't spend much time in the cabin except to sleep and shower.
Ship tip
while waiting for your cabin to be ready on embarkation day walk the ship to get a feel for the layout.
Good to hear some realize that cruising could have set backs and still say it was a great cruise and they enjoyed it. I'm tired of reading reviews from people who complain about every petty thing that went wrong, as if that's what they went on cruise for in the first place.
