Review summary

Loved this itenirary and ship! Spirit feels much bigger than she is thanks to well laid out venues with ample space and seating. The refit is GORGEOUS! Enjoyed the lack of round trip on this Alaska rout as we got to see more and cover more miles/ports.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Flawless in Vancouver. No lines and onboard quickly

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food was Solid Across the Board. Not anything special, but enjoyable in all venues we tried

Taste Restaurant (Main Dining Room)

2 out of 5

Slow service, lesser views and smaller than the other MDR. Go to windows instead as they serve the same menu coming out of the same kitchen.

The Local Bar & Grill

5 out of 5

Late night snacks, comfort food, a great breakfast and great burger. Quickly became a staple during our time onboard

Windows (Main Dining Room)

4 out of 5

The better of the two main dining rooms on the ship with solid food and service. A rotating menu keeps it fresh but there are also “Classics” that remain every night

Teppanyaki

5 out of 5

Don't miss it. Our “singing chef” was so entertaining and the food was incredible

Onda by Scarpetta

5 out of 5

Loved it! Solid Italian and great service

Garden Cafe

4 out of 5

Good, not great but lots of rotating options never left us wanting for variety

Bier Garten

2 out of 5

I think it was just because of Alaska route and cold temps, but this was a bar only (no food) on our cruise.

Ship Quality

The renovation made this my new favorite in the NCL fleet. Sparkling new. You wouldn't know this ship was built in 1998 if someone didn't tell you. She's basically a new ship in the skin of an old one.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Solid and modern balcony cabin. Renovations are great. Bathroom layout is one of the best I have seen with large shower and separate toilet area. Balconies are a bit small due to age of ship but nice reclining lounge chairs make up for it.

Ship tip

The Spice H2O pool on the stern is 18+ only and the better of the two pools. Dont miss out on outdoor breakfast in this area and the views, especially from the hot tubs
