Having done two other cruises before on different cruise lines, this cruise stands out due to the ports visited. Although it was nice to try out the "Freestyle Dining", I found that I missed the consistency of having our own table every night (with a party of 8, this actually may have helped to have had the servers know what to expect from us every night instead of constantly moving from table to table with such a large group). Additionally, although the ship was nice, compared to the two others I had cruised on, this one showed some age and wear. The rooms were nice and large though, so that was a nice perk.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining

I didn't know how much we appreciated having the same table and time every day until we got to try the "freestyle dining". Although having the flexibility was nice, we only ate at one of the speciality restaurants and otherwise ate at the two dining rooms.

Ship Quality

It was nice, but just a little dated and didn't have as many things to do as some of the newer ships.
Cabin / Stateroom

Nice sized room! Bathroom was a little old and TV got weird channels, but otherwise just fine for what we needed.
Ship tip
Don't do any excursions through the boat. We booked on our own, had incredible excursions for half the price and only with our traveling group (not one of hundreds!). Save you time, money and you get to see so much more!
omg. favorite stop. ignore all excursions. simply go into town, rent a crappy looking scooter and take off. You can ride all around the island in an afternoon and still have time to get delicious gyros before heading back to the ship. Just be careful of the on-coming traffic :)
be sure to go outside and do a tour of the Amalfi coast! Get a small car with a knowledgable driver and be SURE to eat off the beaten path. Hands down the best food of the whole trip was just outside the city of Amalfi.
I love Florence. Climb to the top of the Duomo. It's not that bad (I know 436 steps sounds intimidating) but it's an easy walk up and the view is so worth it.
