Our cruise overall was good, marred by noise.
Also, by the embarrassing situation just described at disembarkation.
In 21 cruises, we had never experienced anything like that.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
The embarkation process was smooth and efficient.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The specialty restaurants that my husband and I dined at were Cagney's and Le Bistro.
Cagneys was outstanding. Le Bistro was reasonable.

Service and Staff
5 out of 5
My room steward was outstanding. She went out of her way to please us. The waitresses and waiters were all accommodating and friendly.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The common areas were extremely clean.
The layout of the ship was unlike any other cruise I have ever seen.
Initially it was confusing.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The stateroom was very clean. It was very small, especially the shower.
Our first port was Great Stirrup Cay and at 6 o'clock, a diabolic noise caused us to sit up in bed in the middle of a deep sleep.
It turned out to be the anchor being lowered.
That was the only port where we used tenders to go ashore, hence no more anchors at the other ports.
I made an appointment to speak to the manager and we were able to finally speak with him the following day.
He assured us that we would not be hearing the anchor in the other ports. He was correct. We didn't, but at the next ports, every morning and every evening as we departed, the thrusters were another noise issue.
Eventually, on Day 6, we were offered a mid-ship balcony cabin.
I was so happy that we could finally get a decent night's rest.
Thanks so much to Christian, the General Manager, for the upgrade. That solved the issue.
I've been to St. Maarten numerous times before on cruises.
I love it!
We did a shore excursion. The name was Highlights of Dutch and French St. Maarten. It was good.
Beautiful island with fabulous views at every turn.
This was my third time in Tortola.
My only negative comment is that they're too many old cars parked everywhere. Otherwise, it's a magnificent island.
Our shore excursion here was great.
Everything was going well until I was pulled out of the line and told to go back inside to Guest Services to settle my account. I was so embarrassed and annoyed as I had just done so. The couples standing behind were staring at me as they heard what the officer had told me. They made a call and then told me that the account was settled although I was showing the officer my statement with the time I had settled my cash account that morning. Balance owing was $0.00
I’m guessing you took a guaranteed cabin for a low price. You should always choose your own cabin. It’s not worth the few dollars because most of the time you end up with a cabin that’s noisy. Always choose a cabin that is close to midship as you can always be sure that you have the deck above and the deck below as cabins only. If you are under the pool deck or over the kitchens, for example, you will have nothing but noise. The other issue is when you choose a cabin try to make sure there is a guest cabin across from you. If you choose an open area, it’s quite likely to have an access door for the crew to go back-and-forth doing their job, and that can be quite noisy as the door opens and closes and slams quite often.
