Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Crowded spaces, below average food and not a lot of variety like other Norwegian ships we've sailed. Specialty dining was nice, but the servers

Onboard Activities

Pools were nice, thermal spa was great. It was too cold to use the outdoor facilities.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
Pool music was prerecorded. Entertainment was below average. Not the ship for you if you want to see a Broadway-like performance in the theatre. The main entertainment was the Price is Right. There was a band that performed Fleetwood Mac... they were really good.

Service and Staff

We had a terrible experience with Guest Services. My luggage was damaged upon arriving in our stateroom. The baggage handler didn't remove my backpack from my luggage handle (live and learn on my part) and threw the bag into the pile of other luggage absolutely destroying the handle on my TUMI luggage. Guest Services sent my suitcase to their carpenter who was unable to fix the bag. They said they weren't liable and told me to read the Ticketing T&Cs.... which states you agree not to bring more than $100 of personal items on to the ship. Is that even realistic for an 11 day cruise overseas? After 5 phone calls, they agreed to give me a new suitcase of the same size so I could at least get my clothes home. No onboard credit was offered. As a Silver Latitudes member, booked in upgraded accommodations, I would have expected more from them. The waiters and room stewards were nice, but no one went out of their way to provide exceptional service like other cruises we've sailed with NCL.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
It didn't have the wow factor that you get on the Getaway, Joy or Epic at all. It was clean and modern.

Cabin / Stateroom

Great location on the ship. It was nice having 4 pillows on the bed. Bathroom was a nice size and plenty of closet space.

Ship tip

It's a smaller ship, better suited for warm weather sailing. The outside decks are really nice. The inside atrium area has terrible traffic flow.

It would have been nice if there was a way for the ship to contact you when the Northern Lights were visible.
