Review summary

All in all a very nice cruise. Went with family and everyone had a great time. Food and service was really good. The only negative was the questionable layout of the decks and venues. Would definitely do NCL again.

Embarkation

Smooth and efficient.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Main dining was great. Also loved the specialty restaurants of which we sampled three. The Italian restaurant was just so-so. But loved Cagneys Steak House and Le Bistro.

Shaker's Martini & Cocktails Bar

5 out of 5

The martini bar was the place to be. Drinks were exceptional and bartenders always made a good honest drink. I like the frosted bar surface. In the evenings it had a DJ for a couple of hours.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Great fitness center which I used 5 days. I also liked the casino. Maybe that's because I won the "blackjack tournament" $500 Yahoooooo!!!!! And my son-in-law won the Texas holdem tournament and won a free cruise.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The stage show was just OK. But in all fairness I'm not really into that. The DJ at the martini bar was great and the music in the lobby was good.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Room steward went over and above and all the wait staff were wonderful.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Cleanliness was excellent. But, I found the layout of the ship was not real user friendly. Some odd decks that went up a half deck and then down a half deck. Really hard to figure out. Also the buffet was not well designed. Too long a narrow which didn't make it easy to get more food if you were seated to far away and the tables were to close together which also added to the difficulty getting from your seat to the buffet.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Mattress was great, which is always important to me. Lots of room and plenty of storage.

Ship tip

definitely refer to the ships deck layout plan to help you get around. Also, try the specialty restaurants.

Loved it. We took a plane ride out over the mountains and glaciers. SPECTACULAR. Worth every dollar. The city is easy to get around in.

Skagway, Alaska

The train ride is a must. Excellent. The little town is a bit to touristy

Ketchikan, Alaska

Disembarkation

Always hate it when the cruise is over. Good experience getting off.
