Review summary

Great views of glaciers. Food and service great. Didn't take any onboard tours as they were way too expensive. Felt like I was in a production line as 4 cruise ships went from Port to Port. Towns had WiFi locked down so be prepared for that. Perhaps get a burner phone with prepaid data. Our cell phone provider had no service in Alaska. It was a challenge for a non drinker to drink alcohol to justify the gratuity charge for the ultimate beverage pkg (which is a misnomer as coffees, juices, and water are not covered).

More room than our inside cabin on Norwegian Star's HK to Sydney trip this past January. We at least could get out on each side of to bed. Asked room attendant for coffee maker and robe and received it.

Ship tip

Need to prepare for rich food after eating simply at home. I tried Indian and Asian food at buffet and ate in main dining room mostly.

Yes, the bottled water is priced like champagne! On day two of our cruise, they placed a flyer in our cabin offering the bottled water at half price. We jumped all over that one! The big cruise ships can cost up to 1.4 billion dollars to build, and they have to sell over 90% of the cabins just to break even. So I didn't mind when a latte cost me $4

I agree. if you have the beverage package it should include everything - bottled water and specialty coffees. You can get a $10.00 cocktail but you have to pay for the specialty coffee
