Review summary

Over all we loved Alaska but we did not love the experience on the ship and had expected a bigger bang for the dollar. Sorry about that guys but it is how we felt we were treated based on the customer service and the time I spent booking on line reservations.

Embarkation

I loved Seattle WA. The embankment was easy and a great start to a wonderful trip. Loved the location we started at.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food on the ship was not up to par as to what was expected most unfortunately. The buffets were sub-par at best, a lack of seafood and a herd of people at each location was seen at all of the many main dinning area's. The Specialty restaurants which I book ahead of time on line as was recommended by Norwegian themselves was not on their own computers once we boarded the ship. This was the case with many passengers and they had no significant way of rectify this issue. I was told by their own staff that this occurs each and every time on the Norwegian Pearl. It was very disappointing and frustrating. I was most dis-satisfied with these two issues and the fact they the ship was unwilling and unable to fix them in anyway what so ever. I would not recommend traveling on Norwegian ships nor would I personally ever book another trip with them again.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
The art show, the show ever evening, The comedian each night was great, the club, and the pool and hot tub. However there was no enrichment to speak about that was all that worth while. The kids 13 and 16 did find many activities to be involved in and have a good time.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The piano player at the Martini Bar was lacking but the balance of the performers were great!! I loved the all the rest of the shows.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
The Bar service Mr. Jimmy Del La Cruz made our trip a great experience we loved the Martini demonstration and thought is was fabulous. It was interesting considering my wife and I are not big drinkers and we really enjoyed his expertise and making drinks we could enjoy without getting us drunk. Thank you and hats off to him.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship design and layout was well thought out. The only one criticism I had was possible was having the stage on the upper level of and in the bow making it a bit rough in a heavy sea. But for myself being a boater It did not bother me but did bother others.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The cabin was just the correct size for the four of us. The head was very nice size and the balcony was great.

Ship tip

As stated unfortunately I would not recommend traveling on Norwegian ships. I guess I have been a bit spoiled in the past but I certainly did expect more on the high end food quality and seafood expectations. I would most certainly in the future look for a better quality trip and get one for the amount that I paid for this one.
