Review summary

We had nine family members from age 4 to 64! Everyone was able to find fun things to do. It is a great first cruise or 13th cruise, as it was for me. The Pearl is a perfect mid-size ship, big enough to have plenty of amenities, but no so big that you are just a face in the crowd! We love Norwegian Cruise Line!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Everything was well organized and we were on the ship quickly.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We really enjoyed family dinners in the Summer Palace.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Some of our party enjoyed the basketball and soccer activities. We were unable to do the rock climbing wall due to the weather, which is not under your control, but it looked fun. I really enjoyed the origami activities. The kids liked the arcade.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Tim, the comedian, was a big hit! "Angels", the aerial performance, was beautiful and fascinating! All the shows were good and very entertaining.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
Both of the young kids, ages 8 and 4, loved Splash Academy! The activities were well organized and they loved the "parades" and performances. Every day they couldn't wait to go to Splash Academy!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone was very friendly and helpful.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
We sailed on the Pearl in June of 2007 and really noticed the updates. Especially helpful were the USB plugs beside the over bed lights! This made it much easier to charge all of our electronic devices.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The cabin was average in size for an inside cabin. It was comfortable and always kept clean by our wonderful cabin steward.

Ship tip

Be sure to checkout the Bridge Viewing Room on deck 11.

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington

5 out of 5
Seattle is close to our home, so we go there fairly often. It is a great city with many wonderful places to visit and activities to do.

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
This is the most "urban " of the ports in Alaska. We did an independent excursion.

Skagway, Alaska

5 out of 5
Be sure to go up into Canada. There's so much beautiful scenery! We did an independent excursion.

Ketchikan, Alaska

5 out of 5
Salmon fishing capital of the world! Lots of interesting characters! We did an independent excursion.

Victoria, British Columbia

5 out of 5
Victoria is like stepping into Europe! We did not do any excursions.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Again, well organized and efficient.
