Review summary
Ship was great, crew was very good, messauge was very good (but the prices are out of line; $1.50/min is a realistic - your charge was twice that).
the best part was the itinary which sees most everything important but does not require flying one way which we have done twice. also the time off ship is perfect and the fast run outside the passage eliminates the disappointment with low clouds and fog which are sometimes even near shore. we did have good weather with no rain which was unusual but that is why we picked the week we went.
it seemed that the RR at Skagway was really expensive but still had 3 or 4 full trains so guess it is worth it since probably not much going on off season. i remember taking the train to/from Skagway to Whitehorse when i flew my plane there a couple of times passing through to Fairbanks, Nome & Prudoe Bay.
overall the trip was affordable and a very special way to see family and get to revitalize conections.
thanks george loegering
