This cruise was a really nice mini vacation. Everyone was friendly and we enjoyed our time on the Joy.

The ports were not as important to us as the ship and the fact that we specifically booked the Haven. So we wanted to enjoy the experience and it was well worth it. To go from Carnival to the Haven on NCL is a game changer. We will definitely sail with NCL again and Haven as well.

I would recommend this cruise for anyone interested in going to Alaska. The only people who I see not enjoying would be smokers. I absolutely will cruise NCL again. This was my first cruise with them and I was extremely satisfied with them.

Scenery was gorgeous but learned our lesson to cruise earlier to Alaska as we did previously. July has more wildlife than Sept. Overall we had a wonderful time, enjoyed most of the food, and entertainment on board was great.

Nice cruise, great views. Food was surprisingly marginal at best.

Alaska never disappoints. It was beautiful and we totally enjoyed this trip. Highly recommend!

I would cruise NCL again but I almost like our prior cruise line experiences better.

If you like beer, District Brewhouse has the best variety at sea. Starbucks yep. Above average good food. Entertainment good. Boardwalk awesome. Just not a fan of the top deck. Most of the area is up charge leaving just the pool area open. I’d sail Joy again as I know what to expect. Do your research, Bliss is similar and continues to sail Alaska. Deck 15 is a great public space, spice H20 is for smokers near the bar. Forward elevators are very busy…aft elevator is not as busy. No elevators mid ship. Alaska sailings cost more as port fees and taxes are higher.

The NCL Joy is mostly laid out like the Breakaway and Escape. One noticeable difference that I didn't like: Joy does not have the Thermal Suite in the spa. I really enjoyed this on the other two ships. However, it does have a huge indoor viewing area at the front and sides of the ship on deck 15. That is good for the Alaska cruises. Overall, I really enjoyed the ship. NCL just put $50m into a refurb this spring. I didn't have a problem with anything, from embarking to disembarking. The layout, staff, food variety and flavor, entertainment, you name it, was all what I expected. Loved it.

Overall, Alaska is a great cruise to go on. If you don’t like using the pool or the facilities that are outdoors, it’s great. Otherwise it’s too cold for pool or Jacuzzi and all that stuff. The stops were OK but nothing spectacular. The Norwegian joy was the best thing about this cruise. The ship was amazing and beautiful.

Trip to Alaska was amazing. The ports were awesome. Room extremely clean but no drawers for clothes. The District was our favorite. The servers there were the best and the entertainment/piano player was so much fun. Negative was the steak house. Service was slow and the food was about what you can get in the dining room on other ships at no charge. Took 30 minute to get a rare steak, sides came 20 minutes later than steak and had to ask for them. Then another 20 minutes for our desert. There were 2 shows that I enjoyed. Embarkation was good. Debarkation took awhile. Did enjoyed the check into airport they offered at no charge and would have been great if all boarding passes had been printed so still had to print at airport but did not have to deal with luggage. Took them straight to the airport for us. Got them at final destination. Overall great trip.

Overall the cruise was great. Us guys had a lot of fun. All 3 of us want to go back and see Glacier Bay next.

Enjoyed the the trip very much. We enjoyed the show on board and specialty dining.

Overall the cruise staff was inconsistent. Spent a lot of time waiting in lines. Got conflicting information when asking questions.The room steward was not readily available. Many hours to get our luggage to our room. Complete information regarding our anniversary request was not communicated from the shore staff to the ship staff. The Pride of America 10 years ago was an amazing experience. There is really no way to compare the two cruises. PoA was great. The Joy still needs a lot of help.

Beautiful ship.Observation deck not planned out very well, while in glacier bay people dragging chairs in front of you even though you arrive early to get good seat. Also people napping and sleeping in chairs and sofas make it difficult for people who really want to see the bay.Need better food at buffet , it looks and sounds good,but I found myself taking one bite of everything I tried other than breakfast short order cook and leaving on my plate and going to search for something better, which there really wasn’t anything better, this included desserts. Specialty restaurants were good but expensive. Even after buying specialty dining packages prior to sailing and paying up charges prior to sailing, still had another up charge in Ocean blue. Go carts might have been fun if attendant would enforce no running into others on purpose. Some jerk kept ramming others on purpose and was bragging about it. First cruise I’ve been on where employees act like they hate everybody. Waiters in restaurants were great, but hostess were condescending and rude.

Newly refurbished ship, very clean and updated. Food was not the best as chefs are still trying to get familiar with new passengers and food options after moving the ship to the U.S. The specialty restaurants were great, food was cooked as ordered and had a great taste. The entertainment was good but Footloose was an extremely long show. Port selections were good, wish we had more time in a couple of them. Captain opened the bow of the ship for glacier viewing, that was amazing! Majority of the crew was exceptionally friendly. Debarkation process could definitely use some fine tuning.

Although this cruise was early May, we had perfect weather. The crew, food, and shows were all top notch, in my opinion. I hope to post something on YouTube as proof that I really did have an awesome time.

We had the most amazing time on this cruise. It was the perfect vacation for my husband and I!
