A wonderful cruise for sure. We did it back to back with the cruise from NYC to Quebec and booked the same cabin both ways. The trip was perfect.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Very smooth, no delay.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
All but Ocean Blue were excellent. The meal we had at Ocean Blue was a disappointment. The fish was very overcooked. The buffet was a really good buffet, the service in the main dining room was okay, a little slow at times. The meals at Cagney's, La Cucina and Le Bistro were excellent.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
We hardly engaged in any onboard activities. I did use the fitness center a bit and it was great. The other activities were the water slides and the car race track. We were not interested in either.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The comedians were good, the show Elements was excellent and Jackson Rayne was fun. We also attended the Broadway 80s show and found it to be okay. The Beatles show was a disappointment. The drummer could not keep the beat and the person playing John was off key a lot. The Paul and George characters were okay but not great.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Everyone was wonderful. It sometimes was a bit of an issue getting the staff at the Guest Services desk to slow down enough to really understand the issue but other than that it was good.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Everything was clean and well maintained. The layout was okay too. Lots of walking but that is to be expected on a ship of this size. The most surprising thing. was the elevators. They all were pretty quick to arrive and almost always had room for us. It was a very pleasant surprize
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
It is a typical balcony cabin. Large enough for the 2 of us and quite comfortable. Everything worked. Still no outlets on the bed side of the room but other than that, perfect.
Ship tip
The omelet\egg stations on the breakfast buffet were almost always no to very little waiting. Wonderful to get a freshly made omelet or a couple of freshly cooked eggs over easy for breakfast.
PEI is very very lovely. We did a bus tour to the Anne of Green Gables National Park. We toured the house and grounds. It was a good tour but the best part was seeing the countryside getting to the park and getting back to the ship.
Halifax was a larger city. We did a hop on hop off tour. We spent an hour and a half going about on the bus and some of the sights were interesting but nothing really got our attention. We did ID a couple of stops we wanted to return to but by the time we got back to the ship the line to board the bus was mobbed with (truly) hundreds of people waiting to get on the bus. We were told we had to get off, no continuing. We returned to the ship and had a nice day on board.
We regularly cruise from NYC. We live in Delaware and take the train to NYC from Wilmington and catch a cab to the terminal. Very easy access to the cruise terminal.
We were off the ship, cabbed to the train station and waiting for the train in about 40 minutes from the time they called our group to disembark. Very very easy.
Thanks for the review. I feel the same way about the omelets and fresh eggs. I didn't find out about this until the day before my last day though which sucked.
