Had traveled with NCL on their smaller ship, the Sky was very disappointed but gave NCL another try. Many NCL staff advised going on a larger class of ship to get a better opinion of NCL. They were right in saying so, and the experience was beyond the first impression.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Pretty smooth and as expected. 12.30 embarkation was smooth. Check in staff and wait times were acceptable.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Food was good and had a variety everyday. From Asian food to Pasta and hamburgers to pizzas. Cold cuts and crepes in the buffet area. Specialty dining at Cagneys was a good experience. Savor and Manhattan were always full.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
There was a lot to do on the ship except there was just 1 swimming pool for adults. There are plenty of hot tubs around different decks.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Footloose and Elements were the best shows with fully booked. Only thing was most of the game shows were done in the Atrium area instead of a dedicated theaters or room.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Staff was great at the dining or bar areas. The only concern was that the guest services agent ( onboard credit) seemed very rude and seemed to have an attitude against guests.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Personally, none to complain about, but on the 3rd or 4th day, the lower decks smelled like sewage.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The room is pretty decently hidden to be an interior room. The Ac worked, and the room stewardess was always helpful.
Ship tip
Always book the dining and show a week or 2 in advance.
Private island owned by NCL, unlike RCL, the beverage package is not honored here. Food and drinks are expensive. Cannot charge to room for merchandise or food and drinks.
Pro tip. Always do a self assist disembarkation. Early rise get the breakfast and be ready to get off. The later you decide the more horrible it gets with more than 3000 on any ship.
