Review summary

We had a wonderful Christmas on board the Joy! Great food, shows, drinks, service, entertainment and the ports are the best we have ever experienced! They are cities that the cruise ships visit not ports that are built for the cruise ships.

Ports of call

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California

We didn’t stay in San Pedro before or after. We stayed in Commerce near the Citadel Outlets to do some Christmas shopping before the cruise and then we stayed at an LAX hotel after the cruise. We did a Starline tour of LA to see the city. We had a great day and enjoyed seeing different areas of the city.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Puerto Vallarta was a fav on this trip! I love a beach day! I love the ship life, but I love a break from the hustle and bustle and just relax on the beach. We walked 5-10 minutes to the beach and it doesn’t cost anything to visit this beach. You can shop along the way at the market and from the vendors on the beach. Our children decided to parasail on the beach which was a highlight of the trip. Gorgeous views on this beach and big waves!

Mazatlan, Mexico

We approach to Mazatlan on the ship was beautiful! I love getting up at sunrise to see us sail into ports. We didn’t do an excursion, but we did walk the blue path to the Cathedral and it was gorgeous! It seemed appropriate to walk to the church as we were there on a Christmas Day. It was very pretty walk to the church and felt very safe. Architecture was beautiful!

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

We loved our day in Cabo! We walked to the beach and enjoyed the sights around the marina on our walk. After a few hours on the beach we took a water taxi to the Arch and then we were dropped back at the marina for a short walk to the tender. We had a fantastic day and got some great photos at the arch!
