Review summary

The good -- the ship, its staff, the District Brew House, the shows, the piano bar in the District Brew House. The bad --disembarkation (horrible), Colon (worst port I've been to), and Puerto Limon (could have been better if dead rats in street had been removed -- could be improved with better infrastructure).

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was fine.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Onboard Activities

Fitness center was too warm.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Shows were absolutely the best of any of my 20+ cruises. The District Brew House with its piano bar was the highlight of the ship. It rocked!!!!!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff at the District Brew House was sensational. Our room steward was one of the best ever!

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Was a bit disappointed by the size of the room. I have also had bigger balconies which are more comfortable. But our cabin steward was No. 1.

Ship tip

Make sure you hit the District Brew House as soon as it opens. Take in the Piano Bar from 9-11:00 PM. Too bad it closes so early at 11:00 PM.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

5 out of 5
Good embarkation port

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas

5 out of 5
Great that we could use our NCL cabin cards for purchases. My son loved the tacos which were served at one of the bar/restaurants on Great Stirrup Cay.

Cartagena, Colombia

4 out of 5
Traffic was terrible; one stop had people dressed in folkloric garb wanting to take picture -- I do not like this type of harassment. Bus tour and carriage rides were great. Guides were knowledgeable, friendly and professional -- good value.

Colon, Panama

1 out of 5
Absolute waste of time to stop here. Not sure why it was ever chosen. as a port.

Puerto Limon, Costa Rica

2 out of 5
Better than Colon, but dead rats in the street next to food stands ruined the ambience. Port could use some major infrastructure upgrades to make it a worthwhile stop,

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

3 out of 5
Can't say I remember much about this port, so I guess it was okay, but not much better.

Harvest Caye, Belize

5 out of 5
Enjoy Belize.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

4 out of 5
Been there before -- some great shopping opportunities. Lovely pool.

Disembarkation

Worst debarkation I have ever experienced. For whatever reason (systems down, not sure I believe that). 2 hours late, tumult in baggage area. Left out of Area F with parking in Area G, then returned to Area B. Few porters and impossible to get one to help when he knew we wanted to go to B. Found out why when it was 9/10 mile to walk. Said there were shuttles but we could not find one. Long walk in 90F heat. If we had know we would return to Area B, I would have parked there. Very, very poor, and no one to help. During the 2 hour delay to get off the ship, very few announcements. The when we were allow to leave the ship, everyone went at once which created more tumult. Bad job, whoever was responsible. I feel like I should get some onboard v=credits for next trips as a payback.

What the heck is wrong with people?! The original poster should be able to voice his/her displeasure about something on the cruise or the ports without having people comment to attack his post and try to place blame for the problem on the OP. His/her experience was his/her experience. Do the commenters work for NCL or something????

I agree about Colon, that was a poor stop, made worse by most of the excursions that day being cancelled!

Sorry you are unhappy about some of it but we also have to take some responsibility for our cruises.

I'm sorry, but you chose the ship, ports and cabin type. The size of the cabins is clearly visible on the information about the cabin and its amenities. Perhaps a little more research on your part would yield less disappoint. Yes, a 2 hr delay is crappy. But, just like at home, things malfunction, people get sick, things happen. They took you to all the ports. You had the cabin you selected. You ate daily. Your cabin was cleaned. They owe you nothing
