Review summary

We would not hesitate to take another Alaskan cruise, even if it was to the same ports.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
The lines were long but moved slowly at a steady pace.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
One would think there would have been a better selection of seafood. Especially salmon and king crab while being in Alaska. We never went hungry that is for sure. It was nice for them to have a small selection of food available in the observatory.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Basic cruise activities. It would have been nice for them to offer movies in the theater when you needed some quiet time. My husband had a ball with the go cart course.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The show were standard cruise entertainment. We highly recommend the cavern, it was one of our highlights!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone we came in contact was very friendly and offered to go out of their way to help you.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
This was probably one of our favorite ships being there were many areas to sit and chill.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
This was a basic cabin. Not as nice as the ones we have been in on MSC. We did experience an issue with a sewage problem they were not able to resolve. We are still in the process of sorting that issue out.

Ship tip

Make dinner reservations early. Plan ahead.

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington

Highly recommend staying a few days either before or after. Pike Market is a must, what an amazing food variety. Take the free shuttle around the area. Pass on the Space Needle and go the the Columbia Observation deck. MUCH cheaper, no crowds, taller than the SP and you can get a bite to eat with a beverage.

Ketchikan, Alaska

5 out of 5
We took a sea plane and highly recommend it. Our pilot was very knowledgeable and friendly. Opt for a plane with headphones where you can talk and listen.

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
Highly recommend taking a whale watching excursion along with the salmon bake. Our bus driver was hilarious. Guaranteed whale sighting and the salmon bake was an experience.

SCENIC GLACIER CRUISING

Wow! Upgrading to a balcony is a must! We were blessed enough to be able to see the glacier calve.

Skagway, Alaska

5 out of 5
We took a two hour train ride which was plenty of time spent on a trail. Take a snack with you. Wish we had more time to stroll in town.

Victoria, British Columbia

5 out of 5
We were so exhausted at this point that we just strolled into town and enjoyed King crab on the wharf while watching sea planes take off and land.

Disembarkation

Very slow.....stop for several minutes and then move ten feet. It was horrible.
