My wife and I really enjoyed the Alaska cruise on the Norwegian Joy. The ship was very beautiful and the services throughout the ship were exemplary. Although we loved the food and services at the specialty restaurants (Cagney's, Le Bistro, Teppanyaki), we also enjoyed dining at the buffet and the complimentary sit-down restaurants. The exotic Indian curries at the Garden Cafe buffet were mouth-watering. Kudos to chef Logan and Praveen - your lamb shank curry and chicken tikka masala were outstanding. We should have asked you for the recipes! For outstanding services, special compliments also go to Elsie and Joan from Le Bistro, Yundus and Makora from Cagney's and Adrian from Teppanyaki. What can I say about the entertainment crew? Each and every one of them was outstanding! Unfortunately, I do not recall all the names, but Krystle, Arvin and Yanique come to mind. Thank you Krystle for teaching us to sing "This Is Me" and preparing us to perform in front of an audience! Last but not the least, the stage shows - Elements, Footloose and the magic of Pj Wen - are not to be missed. They were just outstanding!!
All in all, a highly memorable cruise.

Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The staff throughout the ship was excellent. No negative experience. However, we hardly interacted with our room steward and was a bit disappointed that we did not see any towel animal on our bed throughout our cruise. But in all fairness, he did a good job fixing up our room twice a day.
Ship Quality

Loved the ship's layout and design and the common areas were clean and well maintained.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
The cabin was well maintained but a bit small. Access to the closet was a challenge due to the sofa placed next to the closet.
It was pouring rain when we docked. Did the "Duck" tour around the city, but we were very disappointed because the windows of the bus was so fogged up that we could hardly see anything outside. Also, the heavy rain outside added to the problem.
Went up to Mount Roberts via the tramway ride. On the way up and down, we had an amazing view of the city and cruise ships below. We watched a very interesting documentary on the Tlingit people and their culture and shopped at the interesting gift shop. Unfortunately, the ground of the hiking trail was wet slippery, so we were unable to go for a hike.
Took the hop-on/hop-off bus tour, which was not worth the money. Frequency of the bus was every 50 minutes, which was not regular enough. Also the bus stops running after 6:00 PM which was not communicated to us when we booked the ride at the kiosk. We learned this from the bus driver and had we've known about it, we would not have wasted our money.
Disembarkation was somewhat chaotic. No rails were set up to control the flow of passengers lining up for customs. Passengers were all over trying to find out where to line up for customs.
