Q: Does anyone have experience cruising solo on Norwegian Joy? I was just wondering how accommodating they are to solo passengers… for example being able to eat in one of the specialty restaurants etc.

A: I did a 16 night solo on Joy. Met lots of other wonderful solo travelers at the meet and greet. Go and have fun. Safe travels

A: I cruised solo on the Joy last fall, and had a great time! They have solo passenger meet-ups every day. There was absolutely no problem eating alone in any of the many restaurants and specialty restaurants, just make your reservations. Just be sure t... o get reservations for the comedy shows as soon as you board the ship, though, as a solo person, you can wait for “will call” and very likely will get a seat. Have a great trip!See More

Answer Question
Q: Hi. Has anyone sailed on Norwegian Joy to Bermuda recently? If so are there any theme nights I should know about?? The live chat gave me an article from 2018 and told me I wouldn’t find out until I was onboard and to just pack for what themes interest me. That’s totally not helpful…. I’d opt out of theme nights before I packed things I didn’t need.

A: All of the cruise theme nights are pretty much the same. I've been on several cruises with NCL. they have a '70s, '80s, '90s, and glow party. For the glow party, you wear white so you glow, or any other colors that show up in black light.

A: If by "all three" you mean: Taste, Savor, & Manhattan, then those are the three 'main dining rooms'. They share the same menu. Differences include operating hours, location, and decor. Additional complimentary dining options are available around t... he ship, such as The Local.See More

Q: Hello everyone, I am embarking on a Norwegian Joy cruise this summer with a large group. My sister is getting married on the ship and I would like to surprise her and my brother in law. Does this ship accept cabin door decorations? Would sending them a 'congratulations' party package the following day be a better option? I have no clue what that would look like? How can I ' surprise' them as newlyweds with a game or something fun onboard ? Any ideas are welcome, thank you.

A: Depending on your budget, how about giving them the gift of a couples massage in the spa? If that isn’t in your budget, Norwegian has all kinds of gifts for celebrations like cakes etc you can have delivered to their room.

A: Feb 17 (2 days before departure) 730MST . Email from Haven upgrades - NCL IS TAKING A LOOK AT OFFER.
Answered by lifeboat2022 on February 17, 2023
A: Hey - I put in $50 bucks more than min on 2 balconies - NCL supposedly doesn’t do the upgrades till about 3 days before departure . I think it’s silly - I would take what I could get for havens if they are not selling to open up regular... balconies to general public . BUT NCL May close off certain section of haven if its not selling - reallocate staff - they may not don’t want to much wear and tear. Never know what logic NCL operates on.See More

A: You do not need a passport for cruising leaving from American Port back to an American from Mexico or the Caribbean. Facts!!!
Answered by travlntramms on December 27, 2022
A: If it is a closed loop cruise (leaving and returning to the same port) then you don’t need a passport. However, I always suggest having one if possible.

A: I just read about more than 100 being denied boarding at Ft Lauderdale for a Panama cruise because they had no passport.

A: Have a passport play it safe. Your question does not state your ports of call. Foreign ports require passport.
