Review summary

Great itinerary, tour could have been better but I think it depended on which guide you got. Food was mediocre.drinks were good.entertainment was kinda lame.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Better than usual

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
First night at the main restaurant was horrible. It was decent the rest of the cruise. Cagney was great, Moderno was ok. O’Sheehans was great for breakfast and pub food

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

2 out of 5
The shows in the stardust were ok. The lounge entertainment was pretty bad. Woman on piano and Leo on guitar hurt my ears.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Hit and miss, very good for the most part.

Ports of call

Singapore

5 out of 5
So much to do and the hawkers were awesome.

Port Klang (Kuala Lumpur), Malaysia

4 out of 5
Batu caves were my highlights. Tall building were not my thing living in NY most of my life. I heard the wait on the Petronas tower was too long to bother with to go up.

Langkawi (Pulau Langkawi), Malaysia

5 out of 5
Beautiful island, we went on the geopark tour and was booked through cruises.com/shoreexcursions.com.

Phuket, Thailand

4 out of 5
Beautiful excursion on a longboat in Phang Nha Bay. Visit to the Muslim fishing village was too short.

Penang (Pulau Pinang), Malaysia

3 out of 5
Would have been better if we had a better tout guide of the Georgetown Heritage. We listened in on other tour guides who were good for the same excursion just a different group. Example of information from the tour guide - there is a lot of traffic here, you can tell by all the cars and it’s very old but maybe not so old. The list was endless. She passed our one visit by two blocks and had the group turn around and go back. For lunch she went to the wrong place and everyone had to load back on the bus. I think she was a last minute fill in. Lunch was really bad. Tuna and egg sandwiches were offered. Pad Thai was ok.

Nha Trang, Vietnam

5 out of 5
The tour was one of the better ones because of our guide. Great temples, buddhas and visit to village with demonstrations of local crafts and music.

Phu My (Ho Chi Minh City), Vietnam

3 out of 5
Highlight was the monks and nuns monastery. Not endless rice fields and a visit to someone’s house to see how they live was weird.rubber tree plantation was not much either. Tour was called glimpse of the country side.

Ko Samui, Thailand

5 out of 5
Went on the ancient civilizations excursion. Tour guide was great, stops we great. Tenders were horrible though, we left very late.

Laem Chabang (Bangkok), Thailand

4 out of 5
Stayed an extra day, it was an experience.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Good flow, easy to get off ship. The port was an hour and a half from Bangkok. Information not known before the trip.
