Alaska will be on our bucket list again but not on the Jewell. Need a slightly bigger ship and may go back to another line.

Food and Dining

Specialty restaurants were excellent . I found the food at the buffet to be cold and not very appetizing. The MDR food was good but nothing to right home about. The opening hours , 8 :00 AM of most food service, were late for a morning person. I was up around 5 or 6 in the morning and had to wait for a hot breakfast. Late night was not any better. However: food is not why we went to Alaska.

Not to be missed. The food was top notch, service was excellent, you are encouraged to relax and enjoy your meal. Best of all the dessert was out of this world

Entertainment

Shows were excellent and we did not have any trouble finding seats. Deal or no Deal was fun,I laughed so hard. All in all good entertainment
Service and Staff

Room steward was one of the best. Sad that NCL is no longer doing towel animals. Waiters were helpful and were not upset with special requests, ie sugar free desserts. The only issue was the rude staff in customer service. When we had an issue with a transfer from the ship to the airport, which we no longer needed, the staff seemed upset that they had to explain that it was a nonrefundable item., which I was not aware of.
Ship Quality

I love the fish that are on the carpet that appear to swim to the front of the ship. So helpful the first few days getting to lean the layout of the ship. The Jewell is a small ship and well planed out and clean. For Alaska it was just the right size.
Cabin / Stateroom

Much larger then other mini suites we have been in. Our Room steward kept it spotless and was never intrusive. The bed was comfortable but the couch was hard and kept slipping when we set on it.
Small and friendly, Great food at the Twisted Fish. We just walked around and also took the Tram up the mountain and had some of the best blueberry pie.
There are lots of bigger, fancier ships but they won't be at the super low price of this one. Luckily they always tell you which ship you are getting on before you buy and it's really easy to see what it will be like so nobody should ever be disappointed with the size or planned amenities on a ship.
