Review summary

The Jewel was a beautiful ship. The crew was courteous and hard working. The ship was immaculately clean and they went out of their way to keep it that way. Our mini suite was spacious in comparison to other cabins we've had. The gym had plenty of exercise equipment.

The food was edible but not great as we've had on other lines. The specialty restaurants were wonderful. We ate at Chin Chin's and the food was delicious. We also ate at the French restaurant Le Bistro which was exceptionally good. However, we had to pay extra for these places. The Blue Lagoon was good, as was Tanngo's - no extra charge.

Bingo was extremely expensive. Most cruise lines offer affordable Bingo. The prices were too high.

The Green Monkey encounter was a waste of time. We got there after they had been fed and did not see one. There were plenty of large turtles. Beautiful island.

The golf outing was enjoyable. Slow greens and hard pan fairways. The 4x4 trip to the beach was a waste of time.

Lovely island. Would like to return one day. We went dolphin and whale watching. The boat was clean, the crew informative and polite. We saw schools of dolphins - no whales

Cons: the food and having to pay for decent food at gourmet restaurants
