Wonderful Canadian Cruise by dobardd

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Jade / Destination: North America

Beautiful itinerary and I would definitely go again. Quebec is such a wonderful and easy city to explore on foot. I would also love to walk around Peggy’s Cove a little more.

NYC - QUEBEC CITY -... by GraciesDad

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Jade

NYC - QUEBEC CITY - NYC Oct. 16-26, 2017. The results of this past Spring's renovation are amazing. The new look is classy, but still inviting and comfortable. The public areas and dining rooms were immaculate. Our room stewardess, Joanna, was an absolute dynamo and kept our cabin (11090) clean and tidy. It seemed she was always available when we needed her, but she was never intrusive. There were a few MDR items we didn't care for, but overall the food quality and service were very good. The food and service in Cagney's, Moderno and Le Bistro were exceptional. My "favorite meal" award must go to the porterhouse steak at Cagney's, but I'd happily repeat any of the meals we had... not to mention the wine and cocktails. The entertainment was generally good. My only suggestion would be to get to the theater at least 20 minutes (30 better) before the show if you want a good seat. Understandably, embarkation was a bit slow with a large number of guests arriving in the 11:30 to 12:30 time period. The easy walk-off option had us off the ship with our luggage in minutes well before the first regular group disembarked. It did take a few minutes to get an elevator from deck 11 to 7, but nothing unreasonable. We had a great cruise, plenty of good food and drink, good entertainment, friendly crew members and fellow guests and plenty of fun. Looking forward to our next cruise in March, 2018.

Fall Foliage Didn't Meet Out Expectations by jckspann

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Jade / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

NCL staff and crew did a good job offsetting the inadequacies of the Jade. The trip itself was disappointing as the fall time of the year was not pretty and somewhat depressing.

Beautiful fall foliage by Norwegian1st

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Jade / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

Cruise overall was good except for the shortened time in port because of the whale migration. The last day of the cruise was extremely rocky, probably due to being back in the main ocean body. Some people became ill because of it.

Nice Cruise by TexanCouple

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Jade / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

Good cruisewith good port stops. Norwegian has cut back on better food choices and has cut out midnight buffets and cholate buffet. They want you to spend money at upscale restaurants. Pizza crust was so thin, you could hardly taste it.

Enjoyed the cruise. Kudos to the medical staff for the great treatment my husband received for his bout of flu he had during the last few days of the cruise.

Beautiful fall scenery in Eastern Canada. Would not recommend NCL. by gooneycouple

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Jade / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

We will NOT cruise with NCL again. However, we loved 3 out of 4 of the ports. The fall colors and weather were awesome. The service employees on the ship were good to us. The food and entertainment were just OK.

Great trip by Pleasantier

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Jade / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

Beautiful boat, comfortable public areas, easy to get around, wonderful balcony cabin, great food in a variety of dining areas, fantastic shows with very talented performers, , interesting itinerary, plenty of scheduled and unscheduled activities, spectacular service from staff (cabin attendants, wait staff, cruise director staff, kitchen staff, even security. Extremely well-trained and attentive employees aboard.) Negatives: NCL needs to improve embarkation process in New York; Specialty restaurants are good, but way overpriced; alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are exhorbitant; restaurant reservation system was mis-managed; non-stop cajoling for money is off-putting (art auctions, ship's store sales, future cruises, shore excursions, spa treatments, hypnotist).

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Norwegian Jade / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

It was ok, one big problem was disembarking in Quebec. The first ramp came apart. The replacement ramp was so steep some passenger were unable to use it. I am in good shape and I had a hard time with it. Also one elderly women stumbled on it and put a gash in her head

Great trip, Lerwick ... by BabyOleg

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Jade

Great trip, Lerwick windy did tour of Shetland ponies and Scalloway. Iceland , tour of the geothermal plant very interesting and informative. St John's lighthouses tour good. Portland tour was interesting but because it was an afternoon tour at seasons end the shops closed at 6pm when we had been told to spend two hours shopping in Kennebunkport at 5.30pm! New York is New York always good. If on transfer to airport for late flight you are taken there at 11am for 11pm flights so book something for the day.

Have only been on this... by richyfaz

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Jade

Have only been on this ship the once. Would like to go on again. The food was good. If you want an alternative to the restraunts try the Irish bar in the central atrium. Simple but quality food at no additional charge.

Been with royal Caribbean a... by danielplatt5

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Jade

Been with royal Caribbean a few times, however we prefer NCL. Just got back from a cruise to the Norwegian fjords which were beautiful. All the staff were lovely, especially our room attendant. The jade is a lovely ship with a chilled atmosphere, the shows were fantastic. We preferred eating in the smaller dining room over the grand Pacific (the larger dining room) due to it having a calmer atmosphere. Cruise director was ok however the cruise director staff would usually put on competitions such as- crazy golf, shuffle board and basketball. Fair amount of quizzes and dance parties. Overall had the best cruise onboard the jade and wouldn't hesitate to cruise with NCL again.

Terrible by mandydownes

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Jade / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

Disappointed overall in the ship, the cruise director wasn't the greatest. We only saw him when he introduced the show in the theatre and he couldn't make eye contact with his audience, all you could make out was ola and he looked up at the ceiling. Cruise director staff were much the same. A lot of the adult activities at night were in the spinnaker lounge and we couldn't get a seat there and didn't fancy standing being squashed so didn't bother. Randon the singer in the atrium was fantastic and we spent our nights mostly there listening to him. Overall very disappointed and if this was our first cruise it would also be our last. Tips are added to your account as soon as you get in the ship and it's a third degree from staff when asking for them to be removed. They don't take them off till the last night so be prepared to get letters asking for more money or a credit card to be put against your account as well as your card being suspended. Totally insulted by that

Dreadful by mandydownes

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Jade / Destination: Scandinavia

First time with this company and totally disappointed by the experience overall, no wow factor. Lot of the adult activities were half after ten in the spinnaker lounge but there was not enough room there so you had to stand squashed with other people so not worth the bother. Cruise director was dreadful couldn't look at the audience when speaking to them and very hard to make out what he was saying. Never saw him out and about during the day. Best part of the cruise was sitting in the atrium listening to randon singing. Best entertainer on the ship

Amazing! Staff are super friendly... by wendy1978

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Jade

Amazing! Staff are super friendly and go out of there way to make sure you enjoy yourself. Entertainment and food was exceptional- try Cagney, la bistro, grand Pacific and the garden cafe. For evening entertainment I recommend the stardust theatre and the spinnaker but get there early as it fills up fast. Plenty to do onboard kids clubs, games, towel folding you name it they have it! For a first cruise we did the Norwegian fords and they were stunning beautiful scenery and if you can't afford the tours use the hop on hop off bus they were in most ports and take you around interesting areas for half the price! What you do is completely up to you do as much or as little as you like. There really is something for everyone

Spectacular Fjords! by ADKwanderer

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Jade / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

The Norwegian Fjord cruise has so many beautiful places on the itinerary - you can't go wrong with these ports. There isn't really enough time to do some of the more distant hikes, like Pulpit's Rock, but if the ship wasn't going north-south-north-south, perhaps there could be? I wish there was more time in the towns where the excursion options involved distance places (like Flaam).
