Just got off the Jade,... by MelissaH71

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Jade

Just got off the Jade, had a great vacation!! CD Jacky and Asst CD Alex were awesome! This ship is great for people looking for an adult vacation, very few kids (I assume because there is no water slide) The only issue we had was with the bathroom in our balcony room, it was so tiny, We would definitely sail again just upgrade to a room with a larger bathroom

DH and I have enjoyed... by sunnyskies67

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Jade

DH and I have enjoyed every cruise we’ve taken since our first in 2007, whether with family, friends or just by ourselves. Until this time, we’ve always wished the cruise could last longer, even after a 12-night sailing. Our first time on NCL was several months ago with our six young adult kids (sons, niece and significant others). All of us had a fantastic time, so DH and I were really looking forward to this sailing. The ship was a nice size, laid out well and clean. The crew was friendly and hardworking, but there were fewer of them than needed. The officers were rarely seen, disorganized and generally seemed unconcerned with passenger comfort or convenience other than Haven guests. One big negative was a newly revised smoking policy that was unfair to both the smokers and those trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle at sea. The casino didn’t have any non-smoking areas that I found. Smoking was restricted to three small areas on open decks—forward decks 13 and 7, aft deck 7, all starboard. The walkers were forced to go between smokers at the narrowest part of deck 7!! For the record, I smoke but felt this was unfair to all passengers. Food was plentiful, but those who didn’t book specialty dining pre-cruise were out of luck unless in the Haven. Many, many unused tables on the three nights we ate in those restaurants because they were being held by Haven concierge according to a couple Haven guests. NCL purchased airport transfers and Customs clearance in Key West were both hot messes. Ship officers made the Customs process an absolute nightmare with a line that stretched twice the length of the ship!! In the hot sun. Will cruise again, but likely not with NCL.

Good First Cruise by heyitstay

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Jade / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall the cruise was good but not great. I think the little details took away from what could have been a great trip. For my first cruise I think the Jade was a good size ship to try it out, any larger and I think I would have been overwhelmed. But I could see how people who have been on larger ships with more amenities and activities may not be as impressed with the Jade.

Loved the Jade! Staff are... by vegasbaby67

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Jade

Loved the Jade! Staff are absolutely amazing! They were very helpful with my Mom who is in a wheelchair-they have handicapped tables to eat at and the staff always asked if she needed help getting her dinner. I loved the way the buffet is set up with a different serving station for every different kind of food you are looking for and not one long line 😁

Small ship, not enough things to do once you've sailed the bigger ships. Food was just okay nothing great. Needs more entertainment. Todler area super small you can barely fit 2 parents.

We had a great cruise.... by Kingrid

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Jade

We had a great cruise. This was our first cruise. Wish we would have done some of the activities during the day. The show we saw was okay. Our food and drinks were good. Probably my only complaint would be we purchased the pop package and when we would go to get a pop we had to wait in line for 30 minutes or more just for pop.

My expectations were so high... by Enena222

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Jade

My expectations were so high for the food and experience on my first Norwegian, (traveled Carnival twice and Royal 3 times). Cons: The food was ok at best, DJ Ceejay sucked, (people would walk in and go back out), entertainment was just not good at all, room Stewart was the worst I've ever had, but again we weren't in the room much. Pros: 2 pools (family and adults), room spacious and modern, met AMAZING people at the LGBTQ gathering, Paul Roman from entertainment was AMAZING, the Element show is a must watch and the adult comedy. Overall I would travel Jade again if it was a GREAT deal, otherwise I will stick to Royal.

Enjoyable Cruise by jmcc827

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Jade / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall this was a good cruise. This was my daughters 1st cruise. The embarkation process was smooth and easy. We boarded and went on an adventure on the ship (ok, we tried to get to our room to drop off our carry on, but the rooms weren't ready yet). The buffet was open and we went and got lunch, simple sandwiches were very good! We got to our stateroom (balcony room) and determined the 3 was the "maximum" number we would want to put in this room. This was OK as we knew it would be tight. The design of the room was different (my wife and I have sailed the Sky previously), looked well kept and was clean. Our first stop was Harvest Cay, Norwegian's private island in Belize. The beach was nice but the water was murky due to ongoing dredging operations just off the island. We opted to go to the pool. It was very nice, not overly crowded. The one complaint that we had with this port is that even though it is NCL's island, your on-board card is no good here. While we understand the NCL is attempting to support the local economy, some sort of extension of your already paid cruise would be nice (complementary buffet, maybe a beer&wine shack). We chose not to do any excursions here, but adding $100/person plus having to buy lunch/drinks makes for a very expensive day. The next stop was Costa Maya. We did a tour of the Chaccoben Ruins there. We had a nice tour of them. The market place was crowded with cruise ships in port. This was a tourist "trap", all kinds of things to buy if you wanted. The food on the cruise was good, we enjoyed the buffets, we went to Grand Pacific and the Alizar main dining rooms. We went to Cagney's and were surprised to see guests there in T-shirts, shorts and flip-flops dining there. Disembarkation was very smooth. I recommend using the porter service to get to your transfer after. We had many bags and it so nice to have the porters handling them. At the end of the day, we would likely do this cruise again.

This was my 13th cruise so maybe it was just cursed. Was my third Norwegian cruise. This was the first cruise i couldn't wait to get off. I love cruising so I will go on other cruise lines. At this point I would not cruise Norwegian if they gave me a free cruise.

Had a wonderful time. Ate breakfast and lunch at the buffet, in the main dining room and O’Sheehan’s. Had dinner in the main dining room, Cagney’s, La Cucina and Le Bistro. All of the meals were very good! The Magician show was terrific! We enjoyed the three ports of call.

I went on the Jade... by 83pony

Ship: Norwegian Jade

I went on the Jade in January, by myself. 5th NCL cruise. Loved them all. First time on the Jade. I found the staff very friendly and accommodating. For those that get off on the towel animals, I had one every day but one. Be friendly to the staff, and be friendly back. My stewardess was Madonna

This cruise was my first cruise, and it was everything and more I was hoping it would be. Hands down the most fun I have ever had. Ship, ports, staff was incredible! Our group started with 5, ages 20-34, and we met some people along the way that we hung out with the whole cruise!

The Jade was a good... by bs123001

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Jade

The Jade was a good ship but the bathrooms are way too small and the toilet area is extremely small. I went to the Tempanyaki restaurant but was disappointed. I am comparing this experience to that of the times I have been to Kobe restaurants. First: They cooked wasy too much food and seemed intent on disposing of the uneaten food...as the cook said...something for the fish. Second: The food came off second best. Just lacked a lot of flavor. Third: No noodles, just a lot of rice. Fourth: Salad was small and not very good. Likewise the soup. Fifth: They serve some type of basically raw bean pods at the beginning which I was not sure what to do with, but I popped some beans and ate them. Sixth: If you really, really like green tea, you might like the green tea cake at the end of the meal. Most people found ita bit strong a taste. Seventh: They take a picture during the dinner which they later offer for purchase. Personally, if they had just aded a few dollars to the initial meal cost they would win some hearts and minds by giving you the nicely packaged photo. For the money my future choices will not include Teppanyaki.

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Jade

Nice old ship excellent service albeit a little slow in the resturants the Ariel performers were amazing and the food was good the cruise director Jackie was very entertaining. No water slides and little for kids to do outside of kids club and the smallest toilet area I have ever seen,( and I have cruised a few times) I have been in larger porta potties.
