We arrived a day early and stayed at the Plaka.
Pros: walking distance to everything , great rooftop restaurants
Cons : Weekends… loud music and parties until 3am .. so if you need to rest after your flight .. (1)eye mask , ear plugs 😴
(2) different location 🫣
(3) party with the rest of them 😀
Easy trip to the port .. the hotel got us a driver who was so good , we hired him to pick us up and take us around before going to the airport .

Other than the interesting architecture and opportunities for photos, such as windmills, there’s not a lot to see in Mykonos. While it is a very popular island, we happened to be there with five other cruise ships who were also in port. This made it ridiculously crowded. It almost seems it was so crowded that even the locals were unhappy we were there. Search for spots for pictures without a million tourists in the background … i was very busy photoshopping people out of the pics
Mykonos is very popular if you are 18-25 and want to party all night as it seems that’s what it’s known for .
This was one of our favorite porch. We booked an excursion, but not through the cruise and we used TripAdvisor, we had a private tour with an amazing tour guide. Emphasis is amazing however, wear comfortable shoes as it’s very hot and there’s an awful lot of walking. The only downside to the tour is that they stop off at the carpet factory and give you a tour which is interesting however, part of the tours to pitch on buying a carpet. We had a nice lunch and enjoyed our time. Part of the tour was also visiting the house of Mary, which was the Virgin Mary’s last home before she died, and we thought it was going to be around episodes but it’s actually way on the top of a mountain and it was very cool to see.
The next time we go to Rhodes, I’m planning on taking an excursion to see more of the area. This is one thing that we didn’t do this trip. We chose to wander about and get lost, and that was in its own right enjoyable. Had a lot of fun did a lot of walking and ended up at a outside taverna , having some great Greek food. They servedme a giant beer. It was like a 55 gallon drum And that probably made the afternoon more enjoyable but Rhodes is one of my favorite places.
