Review summary

The cruise was a disaster from day one. On checkin told ship would not go the HK. Last Vietnam port would be missed out as ship would return to Singapore. In total we only went to 3 ports with 7 days at sea instead of 7 ports of call and 3 days at sea. NCL refusing refunds. Claims in ref Travel Package Regulations for significant changes to cruise itinerary.

Oh, what a decepción! They changed disembarkation port? Did they vive you free internet to rearrange ?

Unless you were on this cruise you have no idea the way NCL treated us passengers. We we not allowed to cancel. They refused to refund us if we did. Everyone was kept in the dark, we had to find out from other passengers that we were not going to Vietnam. We only knew when we checked our TVs that the ship had turned around and was heading away from Vietnam. You try to rearrange flights / transfers/hotels, with 30 minutes free internet, when our disembarking port was changed to Singapore. The stress was unbelievable, wondering if Singapore would even let us in at the end of our cruise. I’m home 2 weeks now and have had no communication from NCL or my travel agent ( IGLU ) despite having sent several emails.

I’m sure the cancelled ports are due to the virus which the cruise line has no control of.

So sorry for your disappointment

Cancelled ports is a regular thing in the world of cruising it happens all the time you just have to suck it up and make the most of your sea days. I don't think you have any right wanting a refund if the cruise itself wasn't cancelled. Here is a little heads up if you are thinking about another cruise we always have travel insurance with the added extra of port cancellation's on it any port we have had cancelled we get refunded from our insurance. And finally why would you visit places such as this with the virus now couldn't you have cancelled it and got a refund.

That is not the case. The cruise should have been cancelled as soon as HK closed. All other sailings by NCL on this route have now been suspended. If I had wanted a week at sea rather than visiting different ports I would have booked a beach holiday. I agree NCL where looking after our safety but you needed to be on the ship to understand the underhanded way NCL have dealt with this cruise. 200 people kicked of in Thailand because they had travelled through HK. The whole ships crew had been there the week before. No wonder it never got to Vietnam.

It sounds like cruising isn’t for you, especially if you are upset the Captain was looking out for everyone’s safety.

Agree with Herbert1. Besides if you look at the cruise contract they only promise a cruise they do not promise specific ports.

On checkin we where told about change to itinerary but NCL where refusing to cancel cruise and where offering no refunds if we didn’t go.

No offense but WHY in the world would any one want to go to places high in cornvavirse outbreaks right now. If you want to chance it, it's your call but do try to consider the staff/crew and other guest onboard. Seems to me like a no brainer
