Review summary

Really enjoyed Croatia ports which we knew little about - NCL excursion guides were knowledgeable and courteous.  Santorini is one of the most picturesque places in the world!  No need to book a ship excursion there, just explore Oia and Fira on your own.  Good to have a guide in Athens - so much history!  Plan to stay an extra day in Venice - an amazing city and its surrounding islands of Murano and Burano are fun to visit.  Don't forget your gondola ride in Venice - a classic!

NCL Jade is an old ship but has everything needed for a great cruise, Freestyle is awesome and the ultimate dining and beverage packages were great value!

We done the hop on hop off bus tour in Athens. We stopped at the acropolis but it stopped in loads of places

tromano91    8 years ago

I've just seen a post saying they tendered in split but our itinerary doesn't show that. What did you do?

tromano91    8 years ago

What did you do in athens. We went to the acropolis a few year ago.

julieleigh1    8 years ago

Same as we done. You'll love it ☺

Start from Venice. Then Dubrovnik Athens santorini & split.

We couldn't see one but might be worth researching online before you go. Where else are you stopping on the cruise ?? ☺

So you can get the boat to oia but not back again?

julieleigh1    8 years ago

Yes you can get boats from the port that take you to Oia which is also stunning. They include a bus from the port at Oia and another bus that takes you back to Fira but then you still need the cable car down. Ideally it would be good to get the boat to and from Oia but we couldn't see one that did that ☺

That's what I'm worried about. Someone said there were boats in the port that went round the island, did you see them?

We visited Santorini twice on our cruise. 30 min queue up both weeks. First week no queue at all down but 2nd week it was a 2 hour queue so we walked down the 600 steps which was not great as they were slippery. Beautiful place though ☺

how did you get on in Santorini with the cable car? Was the wait very long?
