Should Have Been Good

Sail Date: May 30, 2015

Reviewed: 1 year ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Suite

Traveled for honeymoon/ birthday and neither was recognized by the ship or staff.  Stayed in a suite and requested hypoallergenic pillows in advance of cruise.  Upon arrival I was told only down were available as my advanced request was not a priority (why offer a pillow menu at all?).  Very limited options for vegetarians (salad or pasta only) nothing inventive.  Suite came with butler service, but it did not exceed normal service on any other cruise.  Cruise needs updating.  Penthouse suite with extended balcony only came with one lounge chair.  Drink service at bars and by pools was non-existent.

Food and Dining
Options for vegetarians are horrible for sit down dinners. otherwise, you're up in the buffet all the time, and that is not ideal. Late night and in room food service menus are very limited and the food was slow and horrible.
Service and Staff
Paid for a suite to allow access to a butler and other in room amenities. Did not receive the benefit. Found out after getting off the ship all the things the butler is supposed to do but failed to do. Very disappointing... The turn down was not always completed. We know for a fact the sheets were not changed for several days. Concierge service was only ship area that met or exceed expectations. If lounging by pool, it was nearly impossible to have someone bring you a drink. Long lines at bars as well. Very slow dinner and bar service.
On board shows and activities were outdated and cheesy
Children's Programs
Onboard Activities
Destinations and Excursions
Destinations were great. Did not use ship for any excursions.
Ship Quality
Old and outdated. needs to be brought up to more modern standards.
Cabin / Stateroom
The room temperature swung wildly between freezing and too hot. Could have been larger. In need of a significant update.

Not ideal for vegetarians. If a vegetarian (as my wife is) there is no reason to purchase any dining options. Try to make the best of the food from the included restaurants.
