Great experience, full of fun

Room Type: Inside

Wasn't sure what to expect...but Norwegian exceeded all our expectations...great atmosphere onboard, great facilities, inc very spacious spa and gym. (VIP full package only price seemed a bit unfair perhaps) Food was excellent at times, with the only complaint being perhaps a bit more variety needed in the "inclusive" venues. Staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. Our only previous experiences have been with Cunard, so this was very different, but almost as enjoyable.  I don't think it was as relaxing a cruise as previous ones...on Cunard you have quiet places and have to go somewhere to find some "noise". On Jade it was salsa music and action all round the ship and you had to search for that quiet area to get away from it all.

Entertainment on the whole was very good, with the odd mediocre performance.

Not sure if I'd be that keen to sail out of Venice again...all a bit of a palaver.

I need my Cunard fix next, but will definitely try NCL again in the future

Ship Quality
Absolutely spotless throughout
Food and Dining
A couple of slow breakfasts in the Grand Pacific, but all other dining experiences were great
Service and Staff
Entertainment
NCL's "Elements" and Roberto and Dorata were exceptional
Children's Programs No experience, but Kids club did appear to be open even late at night.
Onboard Activities
Destinations and Excursions
Santorini and Olympia were the highlights. Mykonos needs a lick of paint, but the old town centre was beautiful.
Cabin / Stateroom
Venice, Italy
Pre/post stays..try and book a hotel near the Piazzale Roma bus station area, to avoid vaporetto trips and humping suitcasea over endless bridges. It also takes longer queuing for people mover than it does walking into Venice.
Corfu, Greece
Pretty port, not a lot to see though
Santorini, Greece
Jaw-dropping scenery....will definitely return.
Mykonos, Greece
Very pretty old town with some great shops, but in general, rather shabby. Do your shopping elsewhere though as prices here were 30-40% more expensive than the other ports.
Katakolon (Olympia), Greece
This was the port I was least looking forward to but was the surprise hit of the itinerary. Don't miss the trip to Olympia (Katakolon express do unguided tours for 15 euros return...other tour buses at the port entrance offer transport for 10 euros return). Even Katakolon itself provided great portside shopping.

Tip

Try and avoid staterooms under the uncarpeted whiskey bar as heels on bare floor did keep us up at night.
