Review summary

We did a Mediterranean cruise on the Norwegian Jade. The ship was in excellent condition (very well kept). The staterooms were pleasant, in particular, the bathroom was designed well. The staff was friendly. The food was good, but not excellent.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The freestyle dining was a plus on a Mediterranean cruise. The food was good to very good, but not what I would call excellent.

Ports of call

Livorno (Florence & Pisa), Italy

3 out of 5
Don't Miss: The leaning tower of course.

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

3 out of 5
Would like to have a couple more days to see Rome's sights. Too many tourists competing for the main attractions.

Monte Carlo, Monaco

3 out of 5
Great place to see toys of the Rich and Famous (exotic yachts and cars). Nice place to walk around on your own. A bit stuffy atmosphere though.

Naples, Italy

3 out of 5
Naples was a bit scary. Suggest a cab to the train station to Pompeii or Sorrento.
Don't Miss: Pompeii is a must.

Palma De Mallorca, Balearic Islands

5 out of 5
What a beautiful place...our favorite on this cruise. Would like to revisit and also spend some time in Barcelona as well.

Pros: Ship was very clean, friendly staff, freestyle dining worked well for a Mediterranean cruise.

Cons: Italian cities visited were a bit crowded with tourists.
