Review summary

Nice ship, great itinerary, ports are very near the town, food needs improvement

Embarkation

4 out of 5
There is no real building, just a huge UN-air conditioned tent. Boarding felt a little chaotic compared to some other lines and ports. Much of it is spent standing in the sun

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The ship food was definitely not as good as some other ships/lines, but they had a great restaurant named O'Sheehans that was right in the middle of the ship and always open. Great fun atmosphere with seating spread over both sides of ships. I liked that there were multiple free restaurants instead of just 1 huge one. There was a free noodle bar but it needed reservations and we weren't able to get one. Maybe leave some spots open for walk ups in the future? We walked up to one specialty restaurant, the Italian one, and ate there. We LOVED being able to eat outdoors and the food was decent but the pizza was terrible; don't order it. The buffet needs to be ripped out and rebuilt. It's two long lines and it's impossible to get a feel for what they have unless you wander the entire length of the buffet, try to see between people's shoulder, and then walk al the way back and pick out what you want. They need something like RC's buffets where all the units are smaller and in the center and the food can be viewed from 360 degrees.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We did the ice bar, which was tiny but really neat. The pool is overcrowded and too loud; not sure why they needed to crank the music for such a small space. And the one main pool was so full it looked like a disgusting cesspool . There is a smaller pool near the kids area but it's tiny. No adult pool that we saw, like the adult areas on RC.

Entertainment

We didn't attend.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
Our 3 year old went to drop off car in the evening. it would be great if they offered it other than 7-10 pm so we could go to the spa during the day, but it was great nonetheless

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Staff was friendly but we were surprised that they weren't as accommodating as when we cruise RC in the Caribbean. We only saw our room steward once.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
VERY clean but needs an adult pool and the buffet needs complete revamping. It's impossible to move around in it

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Smallest balcony cabin we've been in on any cruise line and smallest balcony - only room for 2 chairs and really can't move the chairs around

Ship tip

Use the outdoor restaurant and bar space on deck 8
