Review summary

Long! I will not cruise with NCL again. The crew are great but Guest Services and the Excursion Desk have a it’s not my fault attitude that was not appreciated.

Embarkation

1 out of 5
If I could give them a Zero I would. Embarkation took over 5 hours. As a diabetic my insulin went warm because I did not expect to get on board 12 hours after leaving my home. Everyone at embarkation agreed it was a Sh*t Show!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Food at Le Bistro was great! With that said I believe NCL makes all of their free dining options kind of lacking of any flavor, taste or quality.

Cagney's Steakhouse

5 out of 5

Ordered from the Cagney’s menu from the main dining hall and was really surprised at how good the food was. Definitely worth the extra charge.

Le Bistro French Restaurant

5 out of 5

Best restaurant on the ship hands down!

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
Most of the activities were geared towards either very old people or very able bodied people. Really nothing to do unless you brought it from home.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
The only thing entertaining about the onboard entertainment was the kind you get from watching a train wreck! I cannot speak for the shows because I did not attend however all the open space entertainers tried but over reached on their chosen pieces.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Service and wait staff were fantastic! They were the ones that actually made the cruise bearable when out.

Ship Quality

Ship tip

Think Real HARD and do your research. I thought the negative reviews I saw were just people being really picky until I experienced first hand. Choose another cruise line!

Ports of call

Dun Laoghaire (Dublin), Ireland

3 out of 5
The tour was nice but it is a tender port which means you have to be ferried to & from the port 100 people at a time.

Southampton (London), England

5 out of 5
Port was easy to get through and the people are amazing!

Amsterdam, Netherlands

3 out of 5
The excursion I was on told me when I got on the bus that we would need to cover four miles in three hours. Being disabled and having walking problems I asked if there would be any sort of accommodation and was told to take a cab back to the boat when we reach our first stop. So I made my own day in Amsterdam and it was better than any one the ship could provide!

Le Havre (Paris), France

4 out of 5
I did not go because it was a three hour drive to Paris but my wife had a great time since it was a once in a lifetime experience. From what people on board told me the port city of Le Harve was underwhelming.

Belfast, Northern Ireland

It’s too bad you didn’t take a tour to Normandy from Le Havre. Omaha beach was a special experience.
