Because of the poor food in the main dining areas, the sad room we had, and the small entertainment venues, we did not enjoy this cruise as we have all our other cruises.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Quick and easy because we got to the port early.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
The main dining room had below average food as did the buffet. The specialty restaurants were much better. However, the food in the specialty restaurants was comparable to the food in Royal Carribeans main dining room.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
Many activities conducted in the Atrium where there were not enough seats for the passesgers on the ship.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The stage shows, singers and dancers were fantastic. However, other than the theatre, the venues were not large enough to hold the people who wanted to attend. For example, Headliners, Syd's.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
The room stewards were great. Dining room staff below average. Guest relations staff very good. One internet person for over 3500 passengers. Always a long line.
Ship Quality
2 out of 5
We did not like the concept of the Atrium being the hub of the ship. All extra events were held there and there was little seating. Guest relations had to contend with the noise. I don't know how they do it.
Cabin / Stateroom
1 out of 5
We had an inside cabin. We have been on over 20 cruises and it was the smallesr room we have ever had. There was no storage--no drawers--just a shelf above the hangers and one shelf in the closet that folded clothes could fit on.
Have been on breakaway and getaway many times and the big criticism is that all the venues are too small for the thousands of people on the ship. I always wonder wWHAT they were thinking when they designed these ships. The only times every area was not overcrowded was when they sailed at less than 1/2 capacity during the latter days of COVID., And even then you couldn't get in the Syd Norman shows.
My husband and I have been to all the ports that you have gone to and we had a great time. We always take our excursions through the ship which makes it so much easier and better for us.
Our ship is going to Florida but with that, we were supposed to stay there overnight and we're not so the itinerary has changed. On that note, we are renting a car and just doing our own thing in Florida and what's great is that we are in the United States so it's just better because we know our way around.
Are going on the Norwegian Getaway March 18th to the 26th I've never been on the ship. It is the sister ship to the Breakaway so we shall see what will be.
