A good time was had by all, but not because of NCL. Cruising post COVID was riding on a ship with overworked, unfriendly service workers, horrible food, and mediocre talent. If you want a good experience it will be up to you on this ship.
Not the cruise experience of the past.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
This part was pretty good. The preregistration gave us different embarkation times even though we were on the same reservation. They let us board together, which was great. Long lines but that was expected. We arrived at about 11:30 am.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
1 out of 5
Food was absolutely terrible. Lots of quantity but very little quality. Best meals in 7 days were in port. Take hot sauce or seasoning of some sort or you will be very disappointed and hungry.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Crowded, but if you find a spot early you can enjoy. The fitness room was nice are easy to get into.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Latin duo was awesome, howl at the moon and comics were mediocre at best. DJ events were fun if you like to dance.
Children's Programs
This was closed all week.
Service and Staff
1 out of 5
Horrible, horrible, horrible. Staff shortages, disorganization, and people who just did not want to be there. Maybe over worked? Saw our steward 1 time in 7 days. Not towel animals, no drink services in speciality restaurants…. Had to walk to nearest bar to get a drink ( we had a drink package) which was disrupted to dinner, and they just forgot my the birthday cake I planned for my sons. This and food were worst part of the trip.
Ship Quality
2 out of 5
The day starts clean then downhill hour after hour. Not enough staff to keep the ship clean.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
As expected.
Ship tip
There are so many other ways to spend a couple thousand dollars which would be a better value. Don’t go fancy or upgrade. Keep you money and make you own fun. We did!
Thanks for the review. What you experienced seems to be common across all cruise lines now after Covid. It’s definitely not the same experience as previously and probably never will be again.
