1st Norwegian Cruise, we weren’t impressed. I felt the communication was vague on port days and disembark. The beds were SO stiff, I slept horribly for 7 nights, never felt this miserable on my previous cruises. Took me a while to figure out the lighting
Never trying Norwegian again, paid over 2k for a 7 night cruise and it was way overpriced! Food was boring and limited, entertainment overbooked and small pool hardly happening at late afternoon, kids over run the main pool and hot tubs!

Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Complimentary food was average if that. Buffet was lacking for 7 nights. Compared to Royal Caribbean I was disappointed. Drink package was fine, NO personality with bar or dining staff!!!
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Too crowded unable to get into onboard shows, booked early. The popular music venues where put in small rooms like the comedy club instead of theaters or Atruim to allow more guests to see! Very upset for what we paid!
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Musicians were great if you can get into see them! Needs to be in Atruim for the 80s music was so popular no one could get into the small room they played.
Service and Staff

Mohammed our room steward was great. The dining and bar staff very unfriendly! Never a smile and service was HORRIBLE in the Tropicana room, 3 hrs for dinner!! No bar staff to come to table.
Ship Quality

With Covid-19 surprised no sanitizer at elevator!! Only restaurant
Cabin / Stateroom

Small, of course. I don’t like the room key to have to provide power and lighting, tv etc. if my husband left it cut the pier and tv in room. SUCKS and dangerous trying to find the key in the pitch dark. Giant pole outside cabin door adds to danger. Very loud in room when Captain hit the air horn for two hours in the middle of the night returning to New Orleans for fog. Coupled with the hard bed I wanted off that ship!!’
Vague directions compared to other cruise lines, you had to go get your own luggage tags! Not relaxing at all! Oasis of the Seas was amazingly relaxing, Norwegian made you responsible for lots of your own information
Agreed jpmato16. I find people who are used to a particular line try another one because it’s a good deal and not do no research and complain the whole time. Not because per say it’s a waste of money. RCL is more costly then NCL I have one booked at we speak with RCL. I do all the lines after I do my research.
Blah, blah, blah. You did no research. Went on Getaway last year. Had an awesome time. Most of your issues would have been resolved by watching a 20-minute tour video of the ship.
That’s why you do your homework on the ship.... they do not have specific designated areas so to speak for kids and adults they do have a kids area but they are free to go wherever. Research would have told you that as well as the key card to power your room. Typically people have two key cards so you can leave one in or bring a store bonus card etc. they do it to cut down on people wasting electricity and the possibility of a fire. Research again. As far as the shows go you can book them along with specialty restaurants before you board.... research..... I’ve been on their twice and have never had any issues with the staff maybe it’s the person talking to the staff. There is a huge difference in RCL and NCL if your a RCL Princess I wouldn’t recommend trying something different in your case.
