MDRs were very good with 1 exception. Brought a fish dish to my wife very cold. It looked like they reheated the same piece and it was then tolerable but still not as warm as it should be.
They tend to overcook fillet mignonette in Specialty restaurants and hamburgers In buffet. They are both thick and hard to judge doneness, so I think that’s the source of the problem. Simply using thinner hamburger patty’s might go a long way on this. The peppercorn sauce for the fillet was outstanding so that compensated nicely for the overdone meat. Service was very good everywhere.
Onboard Activities

Signed up for the Vibe area. Expensive, sunning/hot tub area away from commotion of the pool. It was worth doing once, but too expensive to do it again. They put up umbrellas for shade for you, take drink orders, bring small amt of fruit at 11 and cookies at 3. We’re 60+ so not much for rock climbing or ropes course. Next time we’ll hang out on outside of deck 8. Lots of chairs, easy to relax and read or play cards or other games. You just have to fetch your own snacks and drinks.

All was outstanding. Can’t say enough about Million Dollar Quartet, Cirque show, and the magician, Becker. Saw him 2x. Dueling Pianos is always fun and comedian was good too. With 4 sea days scheduled we would have liked to have. Some of these as matinee options.

Very good. No complaints. You expect outstanding svc on a cruise and they met expectations but I don’t recall any example of service that “wowed” me
Great tour of chocolate history, tequila tasting, glass bottom boat that they call a submarine, but it’s not. We thought the first 2 were great. The fish viewing was interesting but we wouldn’t have been upset to skip this. Time in port is too short. Wish the Getaway would remain in port overnight or return for a 2nd day. Lots we would have liked to try.
Wife doesn’t swim and most tours involve this in some fashion. We just walked around the shops near the dock and there wasn’t much. Others may like this port, it wasn’t our cup of tea.
Starts out with an incredibly long line. You think you’ll never get off. We handled our own bags and had a tight flight schedule. Once the line started moving, just before 7, all went VERY well. We were off, through customs and in a cab
Idk about “Ochoa’s Rios”, as you list in your initial paragraph, but OCHO RIOS, Jamaica is a place worthy to explore (even with the gauntlet of people offering taxis). What did not “wow” you about the service? I do have to wonder about this. Hubby and I are currently sailing on NCL Getaway. The staff does smile, but we don’t expect it. The staff (stewards, bartenders, servers, hosts/hostesses) are VERY polite, and very efficient in light of long hours and a couple thousand of guests to serve. Do you want the staff to kneel to you, hang on to your every word/need, or do a song and dance and grin ear-to-ear for you to feel “wowed”?
Appreciate the review. We enjoy Grand Cayman, but I agree that everyone has their own likes and dislikes. Sorry you weren't able to make it to Ocho Rios. Of course, a large number of the tours there involve Dunns River Falls...neat, but once was enough. This time we are just visiting some gardens and taking in the nice weather.
