Review summary

This is our second time on the getaway and had a great time. You can read my previous review if you would like a lot more detail. One of our only complaints which I have nothing against smokers was the placement of the smokers cove on deck 15. The smoke goes right down to the kids water park area. That’s the ship’s design fault and when cigars are smoked in there and not the humidor. We also had again the two rooms next to us smoking in their balconies when there of all the ships we’ve been on this one has the most smoking areas. They are entitled just like everyone else to enjoy their vacation just be mindful of others please. We couldn’t always enjoy our balcony. We actually had a great tender experience. The employees let people go early because they said people in the early groups were not showing up to fill up the boats accordingly, they did lunch at Moderno on sea days which was different from the last time when I was on there. It seemed to help with the chaos in the buffet. Syd Norman’s is new from the last time I was on there was tons of fun and great music. I didn’t not experience any of the negative things the others have and I was on the same cruise 🤷🏻‍♀️. We had a great time. All I can say is do your homework on the ship and itinerary it will save a lot of possible complaints later. Oh yeah, your on vacation have a good time and make the best of it! Read my previous review not much has changed.

Embarkation

Smooth and quick not crazy at all

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Always found something great to eat at the buffet. Only thing that I found everyday that was constant was some type of potato ( Americans I think love potatoes), salad and a carving station but always a different kind of meat.

Waves Pool Bar

5 out of 5

We spent a great deal of time in the water park area and I found the bar was always hard to get a drink but have to remember they are serving how many people and a even $1 tip goes a long way. Only complaint is, which I have nothing against smokers is where they do smoke is a horrible area. It blows right down to kids area.

Ocean Blue by Geoffrey Zakarian

We did their walk up window on the sea day on the outside in the waterfront. It has lobster rolls, crab toast, calamari, etc and it’s extra $ but worth it.

O'Sheehan's Neighborhood Bar and Grille

5 out of 5

We loved going here. It’s a great place to gather catch a drink, eat, socialize and catch some sports or a game. You also can go on the restaurant side. Has a slightly different menu but delicious for being free.

Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville at Sea

4 out of 5

Good food, only disappointment was the long wait for the food and the hours in the afternoon.

Dolce Gelato

5 out of 5

Worth the little bit of $ and nice to walk along the waterfront with. Get a break from the ice cream machine in the buffet

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We always found something to do and had a great time even with our small kids. Not ALL cruise lines have the same line up

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Cirque a must see it is a dinner show which was my only complaint so it was $$ Million dollar quartet and burn on the floor also must see. Make your reservations worth it. Oh and the magic show! Kids and us loved it. We did all of our reservations after we got on the ship btw

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
Amazing! Can take any kid who is scared and not wanting to go into a “mom I want to go” even did face painting etc

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We never had any staff that was rude to us. They always said hello especially to the kids.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Always saw someone cleaning the bathrooms etc

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Standard cabin size and storage space. Always saw our steward Mary, she came by every night to see if we wanted fresh towels or our room fresher up. Just do your homework on the rooms before going if your worried about size and storage space.

Ship tip

Remember you are on vacation, have fun and always make the best of it! Do your homework on the ship before going might save some complaints in the end.

Ports of call

Ocho Rios, Jamaica

Sadly we did not get to visit due to the wind. We did get our port fees back.

Cozumel, Mexico

A little overcast. Went to playa mia resort. Had a great time. Has all the amenities like a beach, pool, water park and a buffet for lunch.

New Orleans, Louisiana

5 out of 5
Just like any other major cities port congested. The city itself is rich in history. I love it and creole food.

George Town, Grand Cayman

5 out of 5
Went to royal palm beach club and it would have been great if we weren’t the last ship in port. That was the only minus. There was no where to sit. They had a hard time finding us chairs and put us in a random odd spot. The tender was easy process. The worker told us a lot of the people were not showing up for the letters being called and we were able to go early because they had room for us.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
It was smooth and easy not numerous circles. Down the the seventh floor along the games and out the door. Right through the normal line you stand in and bam! We were on our way home.
