Review summary

We paid way too much for this cruise and we deserve better. I was extremely disappointed in the food and that our state room was dirty. The ports were ok, even if they all had the same types of amenities.

We didnt enjoy the trip like we anticipated. FRom the dirty stateroom and value of the trip. We felt like our money spent was not worth booking another cruise.

The food was ok. Very salty meat at Moderno. Our favorite was La Cucina. Buffets were over crowded and not as sanitary.

Pools were over crowded. We enjoyed Frank Townsend, dueling Pianos.

I think this is a fake review as most that have no cruises listed. We had a great time on the Getaway even thought it was almost 5 years ago. And many many shipmates have had a great time since.

We cruised on the Getaway and will again. We loved it and never felt it was overcrowded. We could always find chairs in the shade even if we had to make 10-15 steps to the pool. The next time research more and don't overpay for anything so you won't be disappointed.

How was Gilbert so great if your cabin was dirty? Just curious. My steward would be the first at fault for a dirty cabin. The Getaway wasn't my favorite either, but I still had a great time.

I’ve sailed this ship twice because we LOVED it! Never dirty. Crowded? Yes, as it has 4,500 passengers, but all these mega ships feel crowded at some point or another. As for the food, we loved their food and the multiple choices, especially having a 24 hour complimentary sit down restaurant, such as O’Sheehan’s, available whenever we wanted. Your profile shows no cruises. Is this your first cruise? If it is, perhaps your expectations were too high. Get some other cruises and lines under your belt, and then decide if cruising is really right for you. But remember, thorough research about your ship and ports prior to cruising helps to eliminate false expectations.
