Personally, as a seasoned traveler, I would recommend paying a little more upfront for a smaller ship, one that treats you more like a valued customer. The larger the ship, the less personal the experience.
Embarkation

Very quick and easy
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Main dining rooms were nothing remarkable. Specialty Restaurants were very good but costly even with the meal package the additional charges add up. The Buffet was sub par. Lots of choices but no flavor, just substance to fill the void. We felt like Cattle being herded to the feed trough. We also purchased the unlimited drink package. If you drink more than usual and like bottom shelf alcohol, then this is for you. Beware of the up charges as they add up. Bottled water is NOT covered. Want a decent bottle of wine with dinner, be prepared to pay inflated prices with a token discount.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
There were many activities on board. The pool area was always packed with the party crowd. Every chair being taken with things placed on them and no one occupying the lounges. We didn't have much time to utilize the majority of additional activities.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The shows we were able to see were great.
Children's Programs
5 out of 5
The kids areas were very nice for our 3 year old son. The Kids Splash academy was awesome. The Staff and activities for him were excellent and gave us time to be alone and enjoy the adult activities.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
No one service stood out as being exceptional. All just seemed to be doing only what they had to do. Always a wait in any venue. Even our Steward was cordial but not any thing remarkable.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
Venues were a bit confusing and very spread out. You constantly had to consult the map to find where you wanted to go. Smoking was very prevalent near the Casino area and exterior, including just below our Stateroom Balcony.
Cabin / Stateroom
2 out of 5
As for a Mini-Suite, emphasize the Mini. The carpets were dirty and it just had an unclean feel to it. The bed was hard and storage was very limited so you always had to work around suitcases. The little refrigerator was full of over priced drinks that left you with no room for even the over priced bottled water that you had to purchase.
Ship tip
Be prepared to spend an additional 30% over and above your base cost for the cruise with all of the nickel and dime charges they have. If it says free, it's a mirage.
Everything near the ship was very inflated and your typical Tourist trap. Every one trying to sell you something and not very willing to negotiate on the inflated prices.
The Staff just wanted you off the ship. Long lines and long waits to get off the ship. Your bags were not very easy to locate. you were on your own to find them. Then the wait outside, in the direct sun light and heat, for our transfer bus was too long and very unorganized.
