Review summary

My family of three, went on the Norwegian Getaway from 6/19-6/26/16. Overall, we had an excellent time. Our favorite part of the cruise was the tubing excursion through the caves in Belize. The cruise itself was enjoyable, as the crew we met, were very friendly, concerned about our satisfaction, and for the most part, attentive to our needs. We never did meet our steward, which was the only time that has ever happened on all of the cruises we have been on! The food was good, and the two shows that we saw, which were included our cruise price were excellent! Our major complaint was that there were two shows that were offered at $25-$35 extra a person. There was also upscale dining venues that were offered. What ever happened to "once you pay for a cruise, all is included", type of cruise? Overall, we had a good time!

Nice cabin. We never met or saw our Steward, which we thought was strange!

Ship tip

The meals at the Tropicana restaurant were our favorite, as there was nightly live entertainment!

Kelly, the walking distance is like 45 minutes, although is not so rough, there are a few difficult areas crossing the river. They rented crocs for $3 a pair.

@KellyJean0807 I went cave tubing and zip lining in Belize and booked with Butts Up cave tubing.com

Thank you. How much walking/hiking to the water was there? Afraid my mom might have difficulty.

We booked the Cave Tubing directly with an independent licensed tour operator at Belize, just as we disembark. The price of the exact same tour as the one offered by NCL was $50 per person vs $129 per person (tour offered by NCL). We are four in my family so we did the same tour as the one offered by NCL for $79 less per person. Try to take the tour as early as possible in order to have time.
