Review summary
My husband and I decided to try a larger ship so we could check it off our bucket list. After our experience, we both agree, for us, that a smaller ship is more our cup of tea. The ship is beautiful with neutral decor- a vast difference from our NCL ships. Our balcony room was about the same size as other balcony rooms on NCL, but the balcony itself was tiny. Our room steward never took the time to learn our names and although appeared nice, was not personable at all- this was a change for us with our NCL ships where the steward knew you within 24hrs of starting your cruise!
For a ship that accommodates close to 4000 passengers, the pool area for adults was too small. We had a blast on the water slides, but no swimming for us. Spice H2O, an adult only area, was nice, but adding a pool would have been smart. The bars and lounges struggled with not enough staff to accommodate guests, but the staff in the Sunset Bar and SugarCane Mojito Bar were top rate! Another observations was they were limited in the specialty drinks they could make- another difference between large and smaller ships.
We did not enjoy the food at all in the Main restaurants. We tried the Tropicana Room and Savor. Both messed up our orders and the selections on the menus were not catering to the every day palette. Ironically, the food in the buffet was very good and we typically do not do the buffet for dinners. O'Sheehan's was great! If you like chicken wings, try their Texas BBQ ones- soooo good! The service was wonderful too.
Comedians on the ship were great- word to the wise- reserve your spot for anything and everything you want to go to- we found events sold out quickly. The art team from Park West was fantastic except for their Auctioneer who was rude to his staff publicly and seemed very unhappy all the time- good news is that he will be transferring to another ship very soon so this will become a mute point!
As far as the ports go:
Jamaica was VERY pushy and aggressive, which put a damper on the fun...be sure to have jerk chicken and a hummingbird drink!
Grand Cayman had the nicest most polite people, but was very expensive with no opportunity to bargain
Cozumel was a mixture of the 2- pushy but polite and prices were so so but ability to bargain.
Great Stirrup Cay was awesome! We found a lagoon on the other side of the island where barely anyone was! Beautiful day, but be sure to keep applying sunscreen!! Sun is very strong!
Overall we had a great time. We missed the personal touches of the smaller ships, but glad we tried a large one. Helped us to prioritize what we like and do not like! Happy Sailing!

Ship tip
Try O'Sheenhan's Texas BBQ wings! Also ask for a Washington Apple martini at Sunset Bar and ask Kennit to make it- if you don't like it, call him Jenny...(trust me...)
